Tokyo Joe’s Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I'm a huge fan of Tokyo Joe's, and the locations I visit are all clean, staffed with friendly folks, and ready to serve delicious food. This location is no exception. I usually order a big combo bowl (white chicken and steak) with curry sauce. Being a fan of spice, I also load up on the Sriracha sauce (BTW, they replaced the jars with small packets, which is a pain in the ass. Not only do I have to use about three packets when before a spoon would do the trick in a quarter of the time, but yesterday one of the packets exploded on my dress shirt). It's a perfectly filling meal, and I love that they have a loyalty card where for every dozen views you buy you get the next bowl for free. I'm definitely a fan of Tokyo Joe's and have every intention of coming back.

The staff can never seem to understand what we want and we end up repeating ourselves a hundred times. The bowls are overpriced and come with more rice than anything. They barely give you any sauce. I don't particularly like the atmosphere at this location because the staff is weird and makes you feel like something is wrong with you if you don't have gauges and a septum ring.

Good food and Healthy. I love that they use wild fish not farmed. All their bowls are good. Love all the fish options and salads. My new favorite is the California roll tar tar. They use real crab not imitation and top the roll off with raw tuna pieces and avocado with a yummy sauce on top. No soy sauce needed

Since it's summer time, I have been on a diet. There are many times where my prepped meals just aren't enough and I crave eating out! Tokyo Joe's is super healthy and a great alternative to the prepped meals I make weekly. I also joined their loyalty club, which gets you specials within the month and a great deal for frequent customers. They have a great menu for everyone, but I always usually order a custom bowl depending on the mood I feel that day. Very customizable to anyone's taste. If I am really hungry and feel a little more, they have sushi! It's not the best, but it is good for a restaurant not specializing in sushi. This is my new place to go for healthy and delicious eating...an emphasis on the healthy!

I'll admit it - I'm a big fan of Tokyo Joe's. It's a great and inexpensive option when I really need my sushi fix and don't feel like making the trek downtown and spending $$$. I usually order the same thing - a couple of rolls and a sunomono, but I've also tried the mahi bowl and a salad and everything was tasty. I would have preferred more veggies in the bowl - but it wasn't my dinner, so I can't really complain. Each time I visit, I think to myself "hmm, today's the day I try something new." But I don't. Someday . . . For the most part everything is healthy - sure, there are some super sugary sauces and salad dressings, but they're easy enough to avoid. It's difficult to find healthy and reasonably priced "fast food" these days - especially in the suburbs. I don't eat fast food often, but there are times when it's a necessity. Or in the case of Trader Joe's when we don't feel like cooking, and can't decide what we want to eat - it's a hop skip and a jump up the road and in about 15 minutes round trip we've got ourselves a tasty and mostly-healthy dinner.

Great quality food. A little on the pricey side for a big meal.

There are soooo many options on the menu to choose from this casual dining bistro! It's also like an Asian chipotle because you can build your own bowl! From salads, to bowls, to fresh sushi and a bento box selection... The possibilities are endless with their fresh ingredients! They even have gluten free options, WIN. I opted to build my own bowl with fresh white meat chicken, brown rice, yakitori sauce, and broccoli. Yakitori is a sweet chili sauce that paired very well with their tender chicken breast. The chicken was pretty juicy compared to how white meat can be dry at other restaurants, and they cut it into thin slices. I was amazed by the quality for this little "fast food" Asian spot. I got the regular sized bowl and the quantity of food was plenty to have leftovers, except it was so good that I couldn't help but to stuff myself full! Being a Miami-an visiting Colorado, I indulged in this amazingness like no other. Despite feeling super full, it was a very clean full feeling rather than a "I just want to roll over and sleep" kind of full. I only wish the rice to sauce ratio was more balanced. I felt like my bowl needed less sauce or more rice because I don't like having my rice is completely drenched in sauce. There's also like 4-5 different kinds of tea to choose from! My favorite is the pomergranate green tea.

I get a call from my firstborn asking if I want lunch. Sure, where from? We go back n forth Cuz she always asks if I want Ko...er, that one fast Japanese place. Yuck. No. OK then what about Tokyo? I'm not in the mood for rice rice and more rice. She reminds me of the lettuce wraps. Sigh*. Fine I'll try them one more time. Wish I'd saved my time. Dry dry dry chicken with no flavor (must've been a 100 year old laying hen with a bad temper), wilted sprouts, brown avocados and torn hole-ly lettuce. Ridiculous Tokyo Joes. Such a simple dish to mess up so monumentally. Sooooo disappointed *dramatic sigh*

Just tried Tokyo Joes for the first time, and I'm sorry to say I was very disappointed. I tried the salmon bowl with veggies and the green dragon sauce. The sauce was terrible. I don't usually leave reviews, but it was so unpleasant of an experience I felt I should share. My Husband ordered the Boulder Veggie bowl, and the guy at the counter asked him what veggies he wanted. My husband said, just the veggies that are listed under the veggie bowl. They guy looked at him again and said, "no, what veggies do you want." I told him, sorry it's our first time here in which he responded, "it's okay" like we had done something wrong! While the rest of the service was fine, we will not be back.

This place is like Panda Express on steroids. Except its Japanese food, its healthy, and you can get "made to order" sushi. Ok, maybe it's not at all like Panda Express. What it is however is affordably lightning fast Japanese-style cuisine with a cozy laid-back atmosphere. You order at the counter and they'll deliver to your seat...sans paper plates and trays. This was my first visit, and as a small crowd gathered behind me waiting to order, I felt rushed. Not by the welcoming staff, but by my own desire to always be cognizant of others. I was quickly drawn to the Spicy Tuna rolls and the Mahi-Mahi bowl. My choices were white, brown rice or udon noodles. I loved the fact the sushi came out first and delivered with a nice mound of wasabi. As I was mixing the wasabi with the teriyaki sauce, the Mahi-Mahi bowl was delivered. Pretty quick. The Mahi-Mahi bowl displayed a piece of Mahi the size of a surfboard, lying across an abundant mound of brown rice and tropical fresh salsa. The fish was presented with a teriyaki glaze, sweet lemon grass and nuts. Of course, I quickly ruined the presentation and introduced all the Japanese constituents with a counter-clockwise motion of my chopsticks. (Pineapple, meet macadamia nut). To die for. As I sat at the table, I had time to read through the menu and all the great things Tokyo Joe's is doing in the community. D'oh. They have Dragon Sauce, with this explanation "Hot, Hot, Hot!" I rushed myself too quickly. That just means another trip back.

I eat at Tokyo joe's regularly, the sushi at this location is slow. Food is always the same, good.

We have been going to this location for a while now. My last two visits have been terrible. Today the miso soup tasted like water. The build your own bowl I ordered with double veg was barely a single order of vegetables, and the udon noodles were mush. Of course since I took it to go it wasn't till I got home I discovered these problems. That just makes it worse. Did I learn nothing from Lethal Weapon? They F you in the drive thru. We will not be going back.

This food is healthy and tasty and the staff is great. I was excited when they built this location because it is very close to work for me. We used to drive several miles to the nearest location back in the day. I go here at least once a week and my kidss love it too.

Fast Japanese food that doesn't taste fast. Always very fresh and healthy. Nothing fried at Joe's!

  • Lou O.

Just OK. My teriyaki chicken could have been much better. The accompanying veggies, rice, and sauce tasted fresh and are 5-star worthy, but the star of show - the chicken - had a vague rubbery taste. Definitely not that nice carmelized grill flavor you expect.

Great fast casual Japanese/American style sushi and rice bowls. Rice didn't seem to be calrose/short grain and a bit on dry side. The extra sauce helped to soften the rice but then it is still to much and became soupy on the bottom. Without many Japanese choices in the area, Tokyo Joe's works if you are craving rice and a healthy meal.

We love this place.. it is our neighborhood Trader JOe's and we're always impressed with the service and the food rocks. Case in point- Mother's Day BOGO today. YUM! And it beat our PF Chang's meal from last night by a mile- healthy, fresh, yummy and the kids cleaned their meals with noodles and free veggies of their choice. We love the appetizers here too and I cannot wait to try the salads. But, my fave is Boulder Veggie Bowl with noodles or Brown rice. Hubby loves the dark chicken bowl and they have plenty of dairy free/GF options including a yummy Gluten-Free teriyaki.

Ooof. Not great. I decided to give this place a try for takeout and I was pretty disappointed (like didn't even finish it, had to go get something else). I had a make your own bowl, with rice, chicken, some veggies, and their spicy teriyaki sauce. For starters - they don't actually cook your food in the sauce you choose, they just give you a tiny cup of it on the side, so it's VERY bland. Even the white meat chicken (what I ordered) was just large chunks of very fatty chicken. I only ate a few bites. I know it shouldn't matter, but I really wanted to like this place because of an article I read a while back about how it's such a great company to work for. The two stars I gave it were for the fact that they did have very nice, quick, and helpful staff. The place also looked nice and was clean, but the food was just very disappointing. Hopefully there are other items there that are more flavorful.

Really great place, the food options are pretty good. My only concern is the food. Not a lot of flavor, the scrambled egg was bad, no taste, the grilled salmon was bland. Other than that it's a great place!

I was eager for some fast asian food and happened upon Tokyo Joes. The Large rice bowls are a decent lunch for two people to split if you are not insanely hungry. We had the Salmon bowl with spicy sauce and it was pretty tasty and definitely more healthy then the average fast/lunch place. Service was fast and friendly; no complaints. The sushi is very unimpressive and not worth it at all. Meager servings with not many creative rolls. Overall, I have it 3/5 weighing in bang-for-buck, quality, service. Probably won't go back.

Was recently able to give Tokyo Joe's a whirl again. I did notice the menu changed slightly with more options such as choosing if you want white or dark meat chicken, etc. I also did notice that with the menu change, the prices also changed. And no, it didn't get cheaper. I always order the combo bowl, but opted for white chicken - which is what I thought I got before, oh well.....and steak. For two people it used to be under 20 bucks with a drink, however, now it's around 25 bucks. Guess the increase in price has to cover the new menus, right?

This is a great place if you want teriyaki bowl! I have been to this location a few times and enjoyed it every time. I had the build your own bowl and it came out great, as usual! They have so many options you can't go wrong.

My boyfriend and I went here on July 4th. They were very busy but we were served very quickly. I ordered a chicken bowl with brown rice , water chestnuts and broccoli. I asked for spicy-aki. I can't remember what my boyfriend ordered for certain but he had the curry sauce. I tried a taste of his curry sauce, and it's not as good as I remember it being several years back ... closer to 10 years back. I was disappointed with the quality of my chicken. The chicken was very VERY charred from the grill.. like it tasted charred. Whomever placed the chicken in the bowl, obviously must have known how charred this meat was because there was " charred bits" all over the bowl, covering the rice and basically coming off into my sauce and vegetables. Gross.. I would have enjoyed it far more if they had cleaned their grill. I don't remember the spicy-aki being such a sweet tasting sauce.. I really doubt they put the right sauce on my bowl. They put WAY too much sauce in the bowl as well, but that is my fault for not requesting it on the side. We sat outside and I wanted some chili powder or whatever spice shaker they offer, and every single one of the spice shaker bottles were empty or pretty much empty. I didn't get very much from the shaker I had.The upside to my last visit, they did have watermelon that you could have. Which is somewhat traditional to have some kind of fruit after your meal. All in all I would give them another shot on another day where they are not too busy.

I'll go out on a limb and give 5 stars, only under the category of fast and healthy. Not comparing this to a typical sit-down, it is a remarkable chain. The Boulder Veggie Bowl is a hit. My favorite sauce is the green curry, which adds depth of flavor with moderate heat. The miso soup was a great starter. Staff was extra helpful and congenial.

    (5)
  • Greg H.

I really enjoy this chain on a regular basis. A regular sized bowl is usually enough for the average person to want to leave some there or take it to go home. The dark chicken bowl was gross though. I think that it was undercooked and squishy. It honestly made me cringe, but who can beat a bowl and drink for $5. If you're not on a budget crunch at this fast food Japanese restaurant, the fish bowls and sushi are usually pretty good. My personal favorite dish is the combo white chicken and steak bowl on white rice with spicy-aki sauce. Give it a shot and choose for yourself though.

Went here for lunch last week with 3 coworkers. Lunch options were healthy and inexpensive ($40 for the 4 of us). I had a nice seared tuna salad (with sesame soy dressing) . We also all shared a spicy tuna roll and a california roll. The fish was fresh and a good quality for what we paid for it. The location is right off Wads (and near our offices so it's easy to get there and back, which is nice when you only have an hour for lunch). I forget how much stuff is down Wads, we're in Interlocken and sometimes I just can't think outside the Flatirons Mall, but there's good options out there. I'd come back here.

I don't know what happened, I've eaten at a couple of Tokyo Joe's before and now I am just so disappointed in their food. The curry doesn't give you enough sauce and the actual teriyaki bowls are so meh. My friend got their house special and thought it was disgusting. Maybe you should specialize in something instead of trying to be mediocre in all.

good fresh and hot food served to your table ( when its busy) there was a long line and a signpost at the door that said " don't freak, the line goes fast" and it did. they also have a great assortment of fresh serve yourself teas. great place for a quick healthy lunch.

This Tokyo Joes is pretty good. I love the gluten free options. My fav are the spring rolls with the basil dressing. The staff is always friendly here, but we've had a few blunders with incorrect orders.

I almost feel bad in writing this review, but don't due to the incredibly poor service we received and the lack of concern over our HORRIBLE food. My wife and I ate here on recommendation from a friend (who I'll never forgive) and we both left without eating. We waited in a very long line to find an UNBELIEVABLY RUDE young lady taking orders. She never made eye contact, flat-out ignored us, and seemed angered that we had to repeat our order BECAUSE SHE WASN'T PAYING ATTENTION. We sat outside, and the food took forever. When it arrived, not only was it not what we had ordered, but it was awful. We would have gone back to get the food we did order, but after the reception we had already received at the register, we decided to just have what we were served. However, my wife can not eat rice, and her dish was served over rice (even though we made it very clear that she could not eat it). I finally flagged down what appeared to be a manager, and he begrudgingly fetched her the "right" food, which meant he took the meat (which was now cold) off of her bowl, and put it over lettuce. It still had rice stuck to it!!!! I had the mahi, and it was inedible. It was overcooked and cold and was just not a good piece of fish. It smelled spoiled and I couldn't believe they would serve it. I have never seen such a disregard for customer service. We weren't asking for much, just the food that we ordered and paid for. I think that is a reasonable request. Clearly, the good people at Tokyo Joe's disagree. If you have the urge, save yourself some heartache and get a stale egg salad sandwich from the gas station. You will be more satisfied.

I love Tokyo Joe's but this location seems to have a problem getting the right thing out to you if you get TAKE OUT like i do; you dont notice the mistake till you are back home UGHHHH But they are quick to right a wrong and make up for it. One time i got no veggies in my chicken bowl and they gave me the completely wrong sauce. It was the XXX hot one so i know i would have enjoyed it that much. We drove back which was bout a 10 min drive so (20 min round trip). They gave us a free bowl no questions asked with anything included to make up for the trip back. I still go here when im on this part of town but before i leave i always CHECK to make sure they gave me what i asked for :)

  • Mandy D.

I love the fact that they have so many veggies and brown rice, they have a spinach/fish salad that I really like. They can go too heavy on their sauces and I now always ask for it on the side. Sometimes their fish is a bit rubbery and not very good, other times it is pretty good. People with kids...we have used the tv at the "bar" area as a video babysitter since they show kid shows, it is nice to sit at a table right next to them and actually have a conversation.

I really like the premise of Tokyo Joe's: spend less than $10 on dinner, make it tasty, and actually, quite healthy. The fresh fish options here are amazing, especially for the price: fresh salmon, tuna, and mahi mahi -- fresh caught, not farmed. Sushi, salads, pan-seared tuna still pink in the middle, AND spring rolls? I'm sold. My only complaint is that every time I've tried the udon noodles, they've been mercilessly overcooked. Boo. Stick with the sushi and salads.

Great Tokyo Joe's - large dining room, always really clean and the staff is SO nice and helpful. Also love that the have so many iced tea choices. For a fast casual restaurant, the sushi is actually really fresh and we love their spicy-aki sauce!

Pros: The Decor. Love the Orange Chairs, Bamboo, and general Contemporary Flair. The Staff: Friendly, Chatty, Smiling. Cons: The Food. It's just... sort of... like... Not There. I do want to go back and try a Ramen Bowl. Maybe an Udon Bowl. But I'll stick with Non-Seafood items. Why? Well, the Unagi Bowl we got was decently portioned, and seemed like a nice idea. However, the Eel was just a bit too fishy. The Eel Sauce was overpowering, perhaps to cover it? But it didn't work. It wasn't BAD... but it was definitely not the freshest eel I've ever had. The "Yo Roll" again sounded like a good idea. Ahi Tuna, Salmon, Avocado, and Mango. The fish here wasn't offensive, but the Salmon was oddly cured, and both fishes, yes, just not the freshest. Not BAD, but not great. And the mango was literally a speck of yellow. No discernible flavor at all. Too bad, because that sounded awesome. The California Roll was touted as having "Real" crab on the menu. Perhaps, but it was in that "Paste" filling that so many California Rolls have, so you really couldn't tell. HOWEVER. Because the service was friendly and clean, and because a Ramen Bowl with Tofu would hit the spot for a quick weeknight nosh, I think I'll be giving Tokyo Joe's another try. But like I said... Not so much with the Seafood.

I like this interior of this Tokyo Joe's and the staff is more courteous than the one further north that I've frequented. This is a good spot to find something relatively healthy - although it's difficult to find anything with minimal sodium. Several of the sauces will give you nearly a day's worth. I often ask for the sauce on the side so that I can control what I put on and only use about half. The regular size bowl is large enough that it provides me with nearly two meals. The Boulder Veggie bowl (stocked with snap peas, broccoli, water chestnuts, bell pepper, zucchini, and tofu) and the Mojoe bowl with pineapple, egg, & chicken are my favorites. The peanut sauce was a little too heavy on the soy sauce flavoring on my visit, so not sure if that's a regular thing or not. My next reason to go back is that one of the workers explained about their new ramen bowls that they have on special.

I don't typically review chains because I truly feel like it's the same experience anywhere and you usually already know what you're getting. However, this is by far the worst Tokyo Joe's I have ever visited! I nearly always get the same thing and that's how I know! We were visiting family up north yesterday and stopped here for a quick lunch. John and I split a large white chicken bowl with veggies and noodles- spicyaki and teriyaki on the side so we can both be happy. :-) First of all, it only had one sauce already poured- but the real issue was the vegetables. Wow. I have never seen such dismal vegetables in my life- in the middle of the summer no less! About 4 pieces of TINY TINY RAW broccoli, a couple mushrooms, about 2 snap peas, and then scads of water chestnuts and edamame. Yeah- TJ, what gives? I was so disappointed by this bowl. Our spring rolls were good. But I would never return to this Tokyo Joe's. Fortunately- it is really far away so I don't have to.
