Authentic Cali-mex. Carne Asada is just like it should be, spiced carrots and great refried beans. All good taco shops have old video games, but their gumball soccer is unique and a nice touch.

I had the Arizona Burrito, one of their top sellers. It is made of beef, cheese, potatoes, and pico de gallo. It was hot, fresh, and very tasty. The location is handy for those close to the highway or people staying at the OK RV Park across the road. Lots of locals were here for dinner when I arrived and they had a Mexican soap opera playing on the TV. Oh, the drama!

The green chile combo plate was disappointing, as is usually the case with fast food Mexican restaurants. The after-taste of the green chile sauce gave away its low quality and the beef tasted like it was cooked too long, the sides were just as mediocre. The cheese enchilada looked trashy and the sauce needs some work, I've had better enchiladas at my high school cafeteria, but it's edible. The carne asada/carnitas tacos were loaded with meat, lacked some seasoning, but probably the best choice on the menu. If you're short on time and cash, the tacos are not a bad idea, but don't expect much.

I shall make clear that this review only applies to the Bacon and Egg Breakfast Burrito (as I've yet to order anything else) but, really, what else do you need in life? If you happen to be driving across the 40 (as I was) and check Yelp as you approach Holbrook, and it happen to be between 7a-10p, you darn well better swing off here and grab yourself one of those breakfast burritos, as it will be the best decision you will make all trip. Trust me. I make the drive between Abq and CA quite frequently, and this is a game changer. I literally plan my trip so that I can hit Alibertos on my trip during their business hours, that burrito is that good, no joke. I've had dozens and dozens of breakfast burritos in my life.....this may well be the best I've ever had, not kidding. wow! Almost too much bacon (and good bacon too!), if such a thing is even possible (insert Jim Gaffigan bacon joke here). Happy travels and enjoy Alibertos and that breakfast burrito. :)

If your in Holbrook Arizona, this is a nice little place for a quick meal. They have really tasty authentic Mexican food. We ordered a burritos for dinner. I got the Arizona burrito and my boyfriend got a combination burrito. It was very tasty as well. My burrito was so big I saved half of it for lunch for the next day. The food was so good we went back the next morning for breakfast. We shared a chorizo burrito which was awesome! My only complaint would be the salsa is a little lacking, I'm a huge salsa fan but not a fan of this salsa. The salsa bar has three different kinds of salsa and amazing carrots and peppers. This is a family place so bring the kids. Yummy!

The patron burrito is very good. Bacon, ham, carne asada, cheese, and salsa. Full of meat!! Me likely!

Carne Asada plate was pretty good. The tacos, however were weird - taco shells were made of some kind of flour or Franken-corn meal, The chunky chicken was not well balanced by greens of any kind. I wanted some salsa, just tomatoes and onions would've been great, but there was none to be found. My bean tostada had a mere 2 tablespoons of beans, again, on a flour crispy fried kind of tortilla I have never seen in my life

We stopped here for a quick dinner as we stopped in town for a night. We were not disappointed. We had chimichangas and rolled tacos. The chimi was excellent and huge. It had a generous portion of shredded beef and guac as well as the normal stuff :). The rolled tacos were good but a little shy on meat- the decent size portion of guac made up for it though.

Aliberto's serves (fast-food) Sonoran-style Mexican, which features thin but often fiery sauces, lard-enhanced frijoles, and lacks the lushness of fresh pico de gallo and avocado. Order what they make best: grilled meats and tortillas. If you are looking for veggies, tasty well-balanced spicy moles and cool thick guacamole, you won't find them in traditional Sonoran-style cooking. As a desert cuisine, Sonoran doesn't use lots of veggies or fruits, is often over-salty, corn-based... so not good for diabetics. It seems counter-intuitive, but I find it simultaneously over-salted and bland, lacking the complexity of other Mexican cuisines. You are supposed to add the tabasco sauce-like salsas to your personal taste. Aliberto's gets high marks from me for fast service and good hygiene, but low marks for no coffee. The salsa bar has thin salsas (green is fiery, red is medium/mildly spicy), sliced lemons and spicy pickled carrots, as well as jalapeños. The drinks are serve yourself.

Delicious! Authentic food & cute restaurant! We really enjoyed their enchiladas, burro, rice, beans & spicy tasty salsa. It's a gem in Hwy 40 trip where most of restautants are major chain. Highly recommended.

Wow - awesome service and amazing food tucked away in a hole in the wall as we were heading to LA on I-40 - they were quite flexible and let me merge the pork burrito with Chilaquiles - way awesome - they truly care that you enjoy your meal - I'll be back - give them a try

Amazing AUTHENTIC Mexican food. I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews. I'm guessing they just don't know what true Mexican food tastes like. If you want treacly good food I would recommend it.

Really enjoy the breakfast burritos (Chorizo Special & Country) Not to crazy about the meats, a little to salty for my taste, but this is as good as it get for Mexican food around here. Bean & Cheese Burritos are good too, they dont give me heartburn like some places.

Adele L. was right on with her summary. Frijoles were VERY salty. Rice was not good and had a funky smell. I had a green chile and bean burrito and it was nasty. One in my party had a breakfast burrito and it was pretty good. Good selection of Mexican beverages. Service was real good.

I'm from Southern California, where there are tons of good cheap Mexican food places. I ordered a veggie burrito, so I can't comment on the meat, but the guac was about 50% brown and tasted old. The red hot sauce was bland and watery. The green sauce was slightly better. Their tortillas, beans, and rice were all good though.

This is about as good as it gets for tex mex/Mexican along I-40. My husband loved the adobada torta and my chile relleno, while not the best I've had, hit the spot. If you're looking for a meal that's sure to please at a price that's right while you're on the road, aliberto's will do the trick. Service was super friendly and the good came out quickly.

Just like other reviewers, only place open on Sunday night. After a full day of driving from Zion and the Grand Canyon, we were drained and psyched to get some quality Mexican food. To sum it up: a lot of very tasty, flavorful good quality Mexican food for little $! Happy customers!!

Very good food and service. We had carnitas tacos, chilaquilas, beef tacos, chili rellenos and chariso. Great flavor, good portion. I would recommend this restaurant if you are traveling through Holbrook

Was referred to Romo's but on a Sunday the town is a ghost town. We found Aliberto's on yelp and both reviews liked that it is open on Sundays. Well it was open and it is a small fast food type place, but the food was good. I had a carne asada burrito and tacos and they were both really good. Better than most places in southern California. If I am ever in this area again I would eat here.

Very good, fast food style Mexican food that's pretty inexpensive. Carne Asade and chicken tacos were very legit.

One of the few places in Holbrook open on Sunday. More important, excellent food. Try one of the flavored sodas or the imported Mexican sodas in the cooler left of the counter. I had carne asada and the beef was very flavorful and the pico de gallo fresh. Fast food style, no frills, low prices, just great food.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
