Great service, good food. Only issue is when fajitas are ordered by anyone the smoke overwhelms the entire restaurant. Great beer selection on tap.

Unlike others. Service was horrible but food is good, this was on a Sunday with a medium crowd and after 20 minutes we had to find a waitress. Would have given higher bit 8b my opinion the rating should reflect the overall experience

Good food for cheap price. Defiantly not fine cuisine but embrace it for what it is. Give plenty of chips and salsa and the waitresses are pleasant for the most part

The service is luck of the draw, sometimes it is excellent and sometimes you're pretty sure your server got kidnapped and is being held for ransom. Oddly, it is never in-between. The food is of poor quality. The "steak" is always gristle with a bit of meat, the chicken is often tough and gristly also. Go a bit further down to Acamboro on 8th.

Great food and salsa is amazing. Very affordable. Service is always friendly. No long waits to eat. Birthday dessert on birthday. Food prices just increased...boooo.

Ahhh, good 'ole Maria's. I really miss this place. We stopped-in tonight for a quick dinner and I was pleased to discover that not much has changed over the years. Chips and salsa? Check. The chips seem thinner than I remember, but that's totally ok by me. The salsas were just as memory served - a little watery, but serviceable. Burrito de Asada? Check. $3.49 for a well-proportioned burrito filled with tender, non-fatty steak, onion, cilantro, and hot sauce. Yummo. Dinner for two, complete with unlimited refills? $12.21. Win. Service was great tonight - very prompt, friendly and helpful. We were in and out within 25 minutes. This is a solid restaurant. My only advice? Stick with the steak-based products. They're far better than the chicken offerings. Maria's = WIN (still) Food = 3.75 stars Value = 5 stars Service = 3.5 stars MISC = 4 stars

I would say you get what you pay for but I've had better cheap Mexican food. The mild salsa tastes like nothing. Get the hot. Our queso was luke warm but at least it was tasty. I got the quesadilla which is hard to screw up but it was just okay. The tortillas didn't taste fresh. I think the chips were homemade. I'm not really sure why this place was busy but maybe there isn't any good Mexican food in NW Arkansas. We'll see.

Benton County must be the capital (or at least one of the capitals) of Mexican food. It's not just that there are a lot of them, it's that most of them are really quite good. Maria's is one of the better ones. Located on Walnut Street, a couple of blocks down from the Wal-Mart, there is plenty of parking. Large dining room with mostly four-top tables and they don't mind pushing a couple of them together for larger parties. Lunch specials range from $5 to $8 and include the usual variety of tortillas (corn or flour), meat (chicken, beef, carnitas) or spinach, and cheese with some sort of sauce on top plus rice and beans. It's hard to go wrong.

After all the hype I heard about this place, I was pretty excited to have this for dinner last Thursday night. In the end, though, I was really disappointed. The 'Pancho Special' consisted of one cheese enchilada (in chili sauce), one chicken enchilada (in sour cream sauce), rice and beans. When I opened up the take-out container, it was all mixed together and nothing looked that appetizing. However, I reluctantly dug in, but still wasn't that impressed. It was all bland and the refried beans had a weird acidic taste. Thumbs up to the chips & mild salsa, though... much better than the plain tomato sauce I was expecting. If I'm back in the area, I'll probably stick with nachos.

My family has been going to Marias since they first opened. We don't mind the ride to rogers since the one in Bentonville burned down, soon to be back up per rogers, anyways, they are usually quick to get you chips and salsa. Love the Hot! Its Mexican food so you cannot go wrong with whatever you eat, but I am a fan of the California Burrito. SO GOOD. Their happy hour special is also very good. I just wish there a bit of a better atmosphere. $1.59 draft beer 2-7om, cannot beat it. If you want Mexican and good Mexican that is fairly inexpensive go to Marias.

Very pleased with my first experience here. Waiter was very very nice and food was great! I had the fajita quesadillas and my wife had the Huevos Rancheros. Both our meals were very good. On top of that, they had a $0.99 kids meal special which made our trip all the more pleasant on the pocket book. Family of 3 got 3 entrees and had a queso app an out bill was only $21. Loving it! I would totally go back!

The salsa is really good. I like to mix the 'hot' and the 'mild' together. The white queso is very yummy. The fajitas are the best deal. You get a lot of meat and veggies. Its usually the only thing I order when visiting Maria's although at times I will get carne asada tacos. My only complaint is getting the waitresses to come back for drink refills or chips. You kinda have to flag them down.

I like Las Fajitas better, but Maria's is good when you want cheap and fast. The salsa is good and the taco salad is perfect. I vote Yes on Proposition Eat at Maria's.

I was dissapointed. The waitress very polite and on top of everything. The hostess was a young girl not very polite. The food was average but the salsa was crappy basically canned tomatoes. We were given two different ones exactly the same thing. The wait was over half hour just for the food. They were not even that busy when we got there. Lots of people waited a long time for the food to arrive to the table. I got shrimp fajitas they were good and very hot and sizzling. My husband got beef fajitas they were not sizzling and they were cold. It was like they made his about 10 or so minutes before. The check was cheap the food is cheap but the only reason I think they are cheaper then other places is because portions are smaller. The portions were plenty big enough but the food for that wait shoud have been better. Unimpressed. I probably won't go back.

Save your money and save your time. We have lived here 26 years. This place has gone to pot. Got seated, waited 10 mins for menus which I then had to get myself, another 10 mins for drinks, and waited 40 mins for our food tonight. And then there was so much grease running out of my burrito. And how do you have a flour shell, that you can't even cut with a knife. My husband's chimichanga had so much cheese in it and on it, guess they need to cover up the taste. This one is off the list, for sure.

I will never return to this place!! Heres the thing, yelpers, I used to go here a lot. I loved the food, the menu was awesome. The service has always lacked, but they made up for it by having great food at good prices and so the slow service was no big deal. Well, no longer will they ever get a dollar from me again! My husband and I stopped by to have lunch there and it was a terrible experience. We first had this female waitress that seemed angry to even just do her job, she took our drink orders and dissapeared. The chips and salsa took forever to arrive, like always, but when we got our drinks and our order was taken everything seemed fine.....that is where fine ended. Soon after a man comes over saying that he would be taking care of us from that point on, which seemed strange as the waitress was still in the resturaunt taking care of other tables in the same section. I am the last person in the world to place blame on race, but we were the only white couple in that section and we are the only people that she refused to serve? It seems kind of fishy, but whatever, the guy seemed nice so we move on. A table of men came in sitting close by about 10 minutes after we arrive, not 5 minutes after their order gets taken their food arrives...we are still waiting on ours. They ordered fajitas, which takes a while to cook normally, but it got there fast! We waited forever for ours. Finally our orders arrive and its brought by the waitress that passed us off to someone else. Hmm? She throws the food down, sighs heavily, asks if we need anything else, and then leaves. The man comes over, asking if everything is ok and at this point I am fed up and tell him we are ok and he leaves. I proceed to eat HALF OF MY FOOD and then find a long black hair in my food. My hair is reddish brown and shoulder length, about 13inches long, the hair I pulled out of my food was thick, black and about 17inches long. It was so nasty!!! The chip and salsa lady sees the hair and takes it from me, saying shes going to show the waiter. She takes it to the two women at the front of the resturaunt, who both look it over and then stare at me, like I planted a hair in my quesadilla. Please, people, I wanted to eat it, not throw it up. So the waiter comes over, says he is sorry and takes the food away asking if I wanted another one. No, I do not want another piece of hair food, I am good. At this point I ask a woman walking by for another napkin, she says (in perfect english) sure no problem. Well, when we gather our things to go pay, the girl at the checkout counter sees that my food and the cheese dip was taken off the ticket and she asks why we arent paying for it. At this point I am pissed, so I start telling her everything that has gone wrong, and the woman who just brought me a napkin walks up and I say "I would like to speak to a manager because we shouldnt have to pay for any of this" and suddenly, the woman who spoke perfect english less than 10minutes ago now barely understands me and spits out "I not manager, I am owner" and they proceed to charge me $16.00 for lunch. What a rip off, any other resturaunt in the world would have comped that meal! I used to really like this place, even when they changed their menu and started charging a little more, we still went,,,,but after this...never again.

My family and I have been coming here for YEARS. I always look forward to eating here, with my family, when I come visit. I was here recently, and I noticed the food tasted bland for the first time. Normally, it does not, so I was surprised that nothing had flavor. Otherwise, I love this place.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
