Excellent Meal. Each dish was superbly designed & executed. The wait staff, Zach was very polite & helpful. The Sea Bass (both entrees) were tender & nicely seasoned. Dessert was excellent, although We do think the White Chocolate Brownie was the best. The manager did come over to see us. There is a coupon on Yelp for $2 White Chocolate Brownie, with the purchase of an entree, when you check into the business on Yelp & are connected to Facebook. We really enjoy Omar's Uptown and it is always a joy to spend some time there.

The good people of Jonesboro are the luckiest foodies in the Mid-South. I'd take Omar's Uptown over ANY so-called 'restaurant' in Memphis and the vicinity. First, the location and interior. Great corner location in the quaint Jonesboro downtown. Beautifully decorated. Not too little. Not too much. The art is attractive but doesn't steer the eyes away from the dining experience. Having the larger bar and lounge area on the second floor is classic New York City. We'll done. But we're here for the food. Pure genius. Every dish is not new to virtually anyone's vocabulary...their just done RIGHT! Yes, it's a place for a great steak, but with an ample selection of salads, poultry and seafood to boot. Some highlights: An appetizer called Crawfish and Andouille Cheesecake. I dare not try to explain. Just order and enjoy. One should never roll the entire salmon in pecans...and Omar doesn't and that's why it's perfection. The dessert of Chocolate Terrine. One bite and I was completely satisfied. Hallelujah. Omar, I'd give you 10 stars if Yelp would allow me. The sad part is that Jonesboro is a long way to drive just for dinner. So, my goal is to build lasting relationships with the good folks of Jonesboro and be offered frequent visits and overnight accommodations.

Nice restaurant! Food and atmosphere were excellent only had to drop a star for service. Not that out waitress was bad by any means...but for the quality of restaurant she was not polished. We had an early dinner and I think we were her only table at the time and she just was not attentive (never even introduced herself) and didn't make reccomedations. All that aside this is great food! We ordered filets and these are big steak portions- I was presently surprised! I had the Blue and Port which is a wonderful FLAVORFUL blue cheese and port wine sauce on my steak. Omg! Yum! Perfect balance of sweet and savory...My husband had the Crown Royal which is Crown Royal reduced down to a savory sauce and it was to die for as well. Overall presentation was OK...nothing special, in fact you could say plain. But the taste of our steaks completely made up for it. Oh! The waitress did redeem herself at the end of our meal. She knew it was our anniversary and brought us a complementary dessert! Very nice!

This place deserves its high star rating. The food is top of the line. They only tiny little negative experience I've had was for my birthday this year. We had quite a large bill, understandably for the food quality, and my finance tipped the waiter very well, and told him several times it was my birthday but no complementary desert ever came. Even the offer of a birthday desert never came up. Always wonderful food, not always top of the line service.

Most excellent surprise to stumble upon Omar's when visiting Arkansas last week. It was our anniversary and we actually set out to find a recommended BBQ joint that had it turned out gone out of business. So we spotted Omar's downtown and walked in. We ordered shrimp and grits and a redfish special. Both were excellent. Good wine list for Arkansas and we enjoyed a nice bottle. Finished the evening with bread pudding. Very good and a very good experience overall. When you happen to be in Jonesboro - stop in. You won't be disappointed.

Jonesboro's fine dining establishment is located in the rejuvenated downtown area. They feature fine wines & high end drinks that will not disappoint. They steak is cooked just perfect at medium rare. The wedge salad is very enjoyable and the seared tuna appetizer is cooked to perfection. We always enjoy our meal here.

This place is amazing and what a gem to find in the middle of America where the normal fare is simple down-home comfort meals. Omar's offers something different. This place is upscale and has amazing upscale food. I had the filet and it was die for. It was served with the best twice-baked potato I've ever had, with a side of asparagus as well. Wine and dessert were also paired perfectly at the suggestion of our waiter. I loved it.

What a great find in Jonesboro! Ambience was great. Service was excellent. Price was on point with the caliber of food. Crab Cakes were perfect, crab and corn bisque was also excellent. My wife had the Ahi Tuna which was presented with asparagus and avocado and I went with the Snapper Verde with corn cakes. Both were very good. Plated to perfection with generous portions and robust flavors. Compliment to the chef and staff. One of my best dining experiences in a while.

Omar's is one of the more expensive, but definetly the best place in Jonesboro, when it comes to fresh, high quality and tasteful food in Jonesboro. + great steak (highly recommend New York Strip) + vegetables are done perfectly, which is rare. + great selection of wines + great wine for a fair price (I loved the Red Devil and the Honig) + they don't rush you, but you have to take some time - which prefer + if the weather is right, I recommend sitting outside on the terrace + live music sometimes + friendly service (I always value food over service and I like them authentic and not over-attentive) o A part of the menu changes weekly o some food combinations seem a bit odd or desperate to me, but mostly the menu is great - Interior / atmosphere is modern and clean, but not comfortable or cozy. I still prefer that over most of the other restaurant, that don't care at all, but It could be much nicer. Over all definetly 5 stars, considering it's Jonesboring. 4 stars on a world-rating.

We had the nicest dinner at Omar's Uptown this evening for my husband's birthday. My husband is vegan, and there just aren't many vegan options in Jonesboro. I talked to the manager last week to make arrangements for a vegan meal. He never even blinked - was totally ready to put something together for us. The ambiance is great. It was quiet and there was old R& B playing in he background, which I love. Comfortable seating with plenty of room between tables, so no inadvertent participation in other conversations. My mom & I shared the crabcake poppers. YUM! Lots of crab with minimal cake. She had saffron salmon and I had the baja ahi tuna, which was just like buttah. John's dish was grilled eggplant & mushrooms with asparagus and tomatoes and a balsamic reduction. I swear, I think it was the best dish at our table. The salads were crisp and fresh. The service was fantastic (Thanks, Steve!). They were all about making us happy. This was my first time at Omar's Uptown. We loved it and are looking forward to going again. Several reviews mentioned price. We've spent about the same for dinner at some of the local chains or similar restaurants here and in Memphis, Little Rock, etc. The difference is the food at Omar's is far better - plus I like supporting a local biz.

Fine Dining Downtown Jonesboro. This is the only real white table cloth joint in town. The food is good, but not great and the menu is ever unchanging, which is to bad since having a nice meal out is a treat for most and to see the same menu from 3,6, 12 mo ago is disappointing. The interior design is nice but over done and could have been so much better if not done by the typical boring Jonesboro-type interior designer who is stuck in the 90's with red and mustard as their main color palette. The service is very good, the prices are high, and the food is predictable.

Very nice atmosphere, but I don't think they were too excited about greeting a "one" person for dinner. I travel a lot and so I have dinner by myself all the time. I am sorry if I might have not been as profitable as other groups, but I can't change that. For some reason that was the feeling I got from the guy up front. On the other hand, my waitress was great and food was good. Now, I didn't think that the food was noble or the greatest cuisine, but I had a good dinner. I thought it was a bit overpriced for the experience.

Loved the food. I would say delicious, me and my girlfriend went there for our 2nd month Aniversary and it felt great with delicious food. The Salmon and the New York Steak is beyond amazing...

Omar's prepares a world class steak, as good as you will find in Chicago, San Fran or NYC. I like to get the blue port, which is cooks in a port wine and topped with blue cheese at the end. Steak isn't the only thing they do well, sometimes we like to just get appetizers...the sweet tamale corn cake or the bang bang shrimp are great. The upstairs has a great bar.

This was a great treat for my birthday. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly and attentive. One of the owners came to us and told us they were happy that we joined them for dinner. I thought that was really special! I would've given 5 stars if it wasn't so pricey.

This is a great place. My wife and I have eaten here several times since they opened. The food has always been good, but we have experienced some variations on the level of service we've received. Some of that can be attributed to minor start up issues as overall our experiences have been very favorable. We ate dinner in the upstairs area next to the bar last week for the first time. There were six of us, and we experienced first class service and an excellent meal. When we arrived around 7:45pm the upstairs area was somewhat sedate, but as the evening progressed both the dining room and bar became quite lively. So, not sure when the other reviewers ate dinner there, but Friday nights are anything but quiet! Omar's steaks are excellent; very good meat and well prepared. The seafood selection is also very good. My vote goes to the creole sea bass. Appetizers, salads, and side dishes are all interesting, and well prepared. Omar's has a full bar available both upstairs and downstairs plus patio dining. My only suggestion is for them to add draft beer on tap! Reservations are recommended.

Fantastic restaurant. The crawfish/andouille sausage cheesecake was to DIE for along with the portabella mushroom/steak tips appetizer. The main course filet and Crown Royal demiglace was superb. Will DEFINETLY be back when I am in the area.

Decor is excellent, service was fair, food was good. But, way overpriced. Dinner for 3 was $164+tip. The ahi tuna was only 2-3 oz of tuna; and this was the entree portion. I doubt I'll ever return.

This is an offshoot of Omar's 501 club. We had a 7:45pm reservation on a Saturday night and we were able to get seated early. If you have to wait there is a small bar near the back with 4 chairs. The food was very good. For appetizers, we had the bang bang shrimp (it doesn't compare to Bonefish, but they were good), oysters on the half shell (they did not shuck them completely, so I had to dig them out of the shell), and the seared ahi tuna. All of it tasted very good and fresh. The ahi tuna was a lot for an appetizer, so I think the previous reviewer had a mistake on their meal. I had the wedge salad, which is pretty standard fare for 'upscale' restaurants. The fried bits of prosciutto in it made it very tasty, with a good, thick, and lumpy blue cheese dressing. For the entree my wife had the pork chops and I had the prime rib (medium rare), with the shallot and bacon roasted green beans. It was all very good, and enough of it that we both brought home leftovers. The vanilla creme brulee topped off a very good meal. We only spend money on dinner like this a few times a year, and this was worth it. After a 20%+ tip we were out about 135$ (includes two drinks). Our server was attentive and responsive. The decor is nice (upscale). They have an upper level with an outdoor patio. All told this is a nice date night dinner. The menu isn't as broad as Omar's 501.
