O! My Word!! Zack's Restaurant is hands down has the best southern cooking I've eaten in a long time. Service was spot on, the dinning room was cozy, and the buffet maintained meticulously well. I'm not usually a fan of buffets because I don't like the idea of unwatched children playing in the food. This was not the case here. I had a pleasurable experience and will be back as often as I can when in Alabama. I had perfectly prepared and seasoned fried chicken, lima beans, orka, macaroni pie, hush puppies, and apple cobbler. In addition to what I listed above, the buffet offered several meats: fried catfish, meatloaf, country style steak, and roast beef. Also offered was cream corn, green beans, fried zucchini, mashed potatoes, turnip greens, rutabagas, and fried cornbread. There was a separate salad bar. I highly recommend this charming country restaurant to all that visit Solcum, Alabama.

A great example of a southern family buffet. Nice selection, all fresh and well cooked. The food was continually refreshed and the buffet kept very clean. Great chatty waitresses willing to talk to a curious tourist.

This is the best food that I have ever eaten. The buffet has a very broad selection. No one ever leaves hungry. Service is excellent and very friendly. It is worth the drive, even if it takes several hours to get there. Don't miss the opportunity to eat at Zack's!!!!

This is quite probably the best food in Southeast Alabama. I'm sure you can find better in someone's home kitchen, but I'd wager few can top the quality Southern food served here. That's quite a feat for a buffet-style restaurant. A trip down the buffet line is a microcosm of the local cuisines I grew up on. There is literally only good food to choose from. Pick your favorites and enjoy. It doesn't get any simpler.

This is a great southern style buffet for a reasonable price. The food tastes like homemade and is so tasty. We tried the fried chicken, pork chops, chicken with dumplings, fried green tomatoes, banna pudding and the salad bar. Everything was great. It is worth a trip here if you are anywhere near Slocomb. They are open for lunch and close at 2 pm,

only open for lunch and could be out of the way depending on where you're coming from, but this is probably the best home cooking I've ever had. if you're in Dothan and reading this review, it's absolutely worth the drive.
