My parents and I stopped here for a quick lunch while shopping in TigerTown. The food was very good--comparable to the quality we get at the local Chinese restaurant that we frequent. The portion sizes weren't crazy big either, which was a good thing, as I couldn't have taken anything home for later!

My dinner started off badly; the wontons were severely undercooked but the waitress was quick to fix everything and then the owner came over and made sure everything was alright with the rest of my meal. The Lo Mein I ordered for the main dish was well seasoned and wasn't heavy or greasy like you usually find in lower quality Asian buffet restaurants. After I was finished, the owner came back over, asked how everything was and then refused to take my money for the meal. I left a generous tip. There are a lot of things outside of the actual food that makes a meal either enjoyable or not; the overall atmosphere and attitude of Mk's Asian Kitchen added a great deal to my dining experience. A cubbyhole in a strip mall can be every bit as good as a fancy stand alone restaurant with statues of horses outside and I would wager that the staff and owners care more about the individual diner too!

This place definitely will NOT feed you enough especially since you know we go family style. I ordered the Shrimp Lo Mein and I left the restaurant feeling only half-filled. And since I eat bowls of chili at a time, this says something. The food is not bad. It's the best Asian food I had in Auburn since last year but that's no really saying much. The business does really well and it's really packed around dinner time on Saturday with many to-go orders. When you order any entree (except noodles), they serve it with "fried rice" but it's really just white rice and soy sauce. One of my friends got hot and sour soup which didn't taste sour nor was it hot. My other friend got won ton soup but after one sip, she put it down. Don't order soup here. The service was terrible. They did not have enough people working. You have to call for their attention or they will never come to you. This shouldn't be a problem if you want to take baby steps to experiencing an authentic Chinese restaurant.

I don't know if this is just me, but one of my favorite things about eating Asian cuisine is that normally, you get a run for your money. This means huge portions for a decent price. At MK's this isn't really the case. Now before you storm off, let me just say that MK's has really excellent quality food. I ordered Shrimp Lo Mein, Crrab Ragoons, and some Friend Rice and it was all especially delicious - even the Fortune Cookies seemed to taste really good! The place is tiny, so it's not the greatest for a large group but it does have a cozy feel and the place is very tidy and relaxed. Doesn't feel like a gross, greasy place you might normally expect for a take-out (which is a popular option since the restaurant is so tiny) My friends and I tried this place for post-birthday grub and I definitely don't regret it. As I said, definitely good quality food but not the biggest portions so definitely keep that in mind when ordering.

Best Asian food in the area, quick and friendly service. Stop in for long next time you are in Tiger Town.

I would give the food 3 stars, but the service is definitely a 5. The restaurant is unassuming... It can probably hold 40 or so people. Everyone was very kind and my server was incredible. I had the Kung Pao chicken lunch special. The flavoring was very delicious, however I was surprised that there weren't many veggies in the dish. I got three pieces of broccoli and that was it. There nice sized portion of both the chicken and the fried rice, especially for the price. The spring roll that I received with my meal was mediocre. I would see if I could substitute it for something else next time. I will be back to try again!

Love this place! You can't go wrong with the wonton soup, dumplings, or any noodle dish! Everyone is so nice here and it's such a laid back place, great for unwinding after shopping!

People extremely nice, hate to do this but being over 2000 miles from home was looking forward to some hot and sour soup, sesame chicken, spring rolls. and fried rice which is what I picked up here and took back to the hotel. Ate half of it, threw the rest out. Chicken was extremely small portion, and deep fried with a honey tasting sauce on it. Hot and sour soup was not very good, and the beef spring rolls tasted weird. Not bad or rotten or something that will make you sick, just not very good. I've eaten at Chinese places in dozens of states over dozens of years so am not being overly harsh, it just was not very good. Sorry, maybe if someone from Alabama came out to the LA area they wouldn't like our Chinese food. Don't know, just won't go here again.

By far, my favorite Chinese food in Auburn. The prices are reasonable and the quality is surprisingly high. The portions are also good. I leave most Chinese restaurants super sleepy and gross feeling, but always leave MK's happy and refreshed. My wife and I enjoy most of the dishes we've tried like the cashew chicken, orange chicken, hot/sour soup, and wonton soup, but I wasn't a big fan of the mapo tofu. Their dumplings look tasty and I'm looking forward to trying them next time.

Favorite restaurant in the area!!! It has been our go-to place over the last 3 years for any eating out occasion from a quick lunch during errands to a Friday night dinner out. The food is excellent quality, reasonably priced, and I like the portion sizes. I have liked everything I've tried. My favorites are the hot and sour soup, Szechuan tofu, and the spicy eggplant dish that isn't on the menu. The food is just so consistently fresh, delicious and perfectly cooked. I'm craving some dumplings writing this review! For authentic Chinese food or Americanized favorites, this place is just the best. I think the best part about this restaurant ls the owner. Ironically her name is Shai (sp? shy) but she is the friendliest person. She has known us by name since our third visit. She even remembers my husband's parents' names who came to visit once. She is so friendly and makes us feel very welcome as if we are eating in a friend's home.

I have been to many different Chinese restaurants but this is, hands down, one of the best. There are excellent choices, the usual ones and some I don't always see on menus. The lunch special was really affordable and was the perfect portion. The people in there were all very kind and cared about their customers. And the food. Oh the food. It was so fresh. I had the teriyaki chicken and my husband had the mongolian beef and both were amazing. Great food, lovely people, very affordable. We can't imagine getting our Chinese food from anywhere else now!

i came here to try their lunch. i had a take out for two. from outside it looks very small and seemed like there isn't many people inside. i was little surprised b/c when i went there around 1pm...they were packed. i went up to the counter and order my food to go. i think she was the owner at the register and she was very nice and very helpful. the price for lunch is a bit pricy than other chinese restaurants in the area but i think the food was good and the service was great.

NO HAIR PLEASE Halfway through the meal, I found myself chewing on a six inch long and very thick black hair. I informed the waitress of this and she asked me what I wanted them to do. I told her that I did not plan on finishing the meal and that I did not think I should have to pay for the soup or plates my wife and I were having. She informed me that I was expected to pay for everything that did not have hair in it. She did not like my next comment and proceeded to create quite an embarrassing scene in the half full restaurant. I asked to speak with an owner who never appeared but did communicate with the waitress that we did not have to pay for the meal. TERRIBLE DINING EXPERIENCE.

Quite possibly, one of the best chinese places in Auburn. You should really ask for their chinese menu to experience the authentic chinese cuisine. You can't go wrong with Ma-po Tofu or Spicy Eggplant. I love them both. The place does get quite busy and there is only waitress serving most of the time. So there will be times when your glass will stay unfilled. I've also noticed that the quantity of food has reduced quite a lot over the past few years. No complaints as far as the taste is concerned.

One of my favorite places to eat. And is actually one of the better Chinese food I have had in any town. The owner is amazing. She knew my name after my second visit and remembers what I order. Great food, the restuarnat is a little small so you may have to wait to be seated. Service also leaves a little to be desired- the few times I have eaten with the group, they brought out the meals individually and it sometimes took up to 20 minutes for everybody on the table to get their meals. Ultimately it is great food, highly recommended!

I'm giving MK's 2 stars because Doyle really loved his General Tso's Chicken. I though did not like my Dragon and Pheonix at all. The shrimp tasted bad. And it was way to salty. There was one waitress who was serving every table and there were people of Asian decent who were seated 15 mins after us but served before us. My food also came 20 mins before Doyle's. It was just really weird. If he hadn't liked his meal so much we would have paid and walked out without eating. After all the good reviews I expected a lot and instead was highly disappointed. I have not tried any other Chinese food restaurants yet in the area, so I have yet to determine if this is really the "best" they got in Auburn and Opelika. May try it again but with take-out this time!

Best Chinese food in Auburn, by far. Fresh, not greasy. Good portion sizes and tofu dishes. Friendly service and reasonable prices.

In my opinion, not is it the best Chinese in auburn, it's probably the best I've had anywhere.

My favorite chinese in Auburn area. Owner is wonderful. Portions seem larger for take out than dine in, which is strange. Favorite dishes: Kung Pao Chicken, Chicken Cashew, and General Tsaos. Egg rolls are the best ever. And then it's right beside Chill!
