Yelp check-in promotion no longer valid for this place, and since I was looking for a brunch-like meal on a lazy Sunday afternoon, ultimately it was the Yelp deal that drove me to give this place ago. Decor is swanky and the menu is moderately sized; I ordered the blue cheese burger with onion rings, and while the sauce that came with it for the rings was pretty unique (kind of a sweet-tangy sauce) the rest of the meal was pretty normal. Also charged nearly 3 bucks for a pint sized glass of juice that was mostly ice anyway. Not quite what I was looking for... and honestly, it can't be hard to call the folks at Yelp and tell them that you won't honor the check-in deal advertized on their site.

This is basically a neighborhood lounge, bar, grill. The hostess does not seem happy to see us. No smile, no greeting. Sinclair's is dark with straight out of the 1980's decor and, worst of all, an overwhelming odor of cigarettes. Apparently, one side of the place is smoking, one side nonsmoking. Who knew such places existed in 2015? I ask for a description of bunch dishes only to find out that none of them are available on Saturday except eggs benedict. So I order a 1/2 sandwich and soup instead. The club sandwich has about 1 slice of sandwich meat on it and 1/2 a slice of bacon crumbles. It is dry and tasteless (LOTS of dry toasted bread though). The crab soup tastes so heavily of horseradish it is inedible. I get tomato basil instead which is tasty. Service is ok. The smoke smell is terrible, a bit like trying to eat while sitting in a giant ashtray; can't recommend it. Food: 2/5 Service: 3/5 Atmosphere/Decor: 2/5, cigarette smell cancels everything else out Would I return: No.

Sorriest excuse for service in Montgomery. Placed order over phone for takeout. When order was picked up food was missing. Nobody informed us at time of pickup that item wasn't available at lunch ( ridiculous) the item was included on the kitchen ticket sent with food, but no detailed receipt was sent. When we called both the employee answering and the manager (Chrissy I think) were very rude and couldn't seem to grasp that they should have informed us ideally at the time of order, but certainly at the time of pickup that there was an item that couldn't be included. The service at this establishment has gone downhill recently, with such management practices, it's no wonder. Fortunately there is Sinclairs Cloverdale, because Sinclairs food is always great.

We had church group that ate there. Food was well cooked and presentation was nice. I would recommend the 'she crab' soup and sandwich combo. Plan to go back again soon for the meat/three.

We had a great experience at Sinclair's. Generally: They have a smoking/bar side of the restaurant separated by glass pains from the non-smoking side. The seating was nice as it had both leather covered seats and booths. They provide adjustable lighting via a dimmer switch at each booth. I believe they could handle a medium sized to large sized group. Service: The waiter was very friendly with a great sense of humor. He kept our drinks refilled and checked on us regularly. Food: They have a nice variety of food and desserts. The fish and chips, and fried brie wedges with marinara were both great. Recommend: I would not hesitate to recommend Sinclair's.

Came here to enjoy some music on a Friday night and felt the pangs of hunger kick in - so, why not enjoy some food as well? Absolutely! First off, the restaurant is divided into two sections (smoking and non) and the smoking side has live music. The non-smoking side is the dining side to where you won't be bothered and can actually hear your conversations without the distraction of whatever's happening on the other side.( For the record, you can still eat on the smoking side too.) Sitting on the non-smoking side, I was treated to a small table and lay in wait for the server to approach. When the server arrived, I gleamed over the menu quickly, searching for an appetizer to try and the Kowaliga Bites were recommended. An order of a medium-rare Ribeye followed with baked potato and salad. Kowaliga bites were small bites of fish lightly breaded and fried with a side of tarter sauce -- and they were excellent, tender and succulent. I almost had a hard time stopping because I didn't want to fill up on them (it was a healthy order) and ruin my meal later. Salad was good, pretty standard on all accounts... but the steak made its award-winning appearance soon after and I wanted to have all the lights spotlighted on my plate -- it looked awesome! If there were music to accompany, it would have been the Star-Wars-Darth-Vader-Deathmarch because that steak wasn't going to stand a chance.... and it didn't. Meaty morsels of bliss, perfectly seasoned and cooked, were sliding into my stomach and my belly became full in no time at all. Were I not full of manners, I might have considered licking the plate. But that's frowned upon, or so I hear. All in all, the ambiance, service, and meal were great; the live music next door was awesome and I'll make a return trip back soon. You should go... I dare you.

We went for Valentine's Day and had a reservation. We had to wait in the very awkward and silent lobby for about 15 minutes. Our waitress was a nut! She kept making weird jokes and even sat in my booth next to me. Usually, I really wouldn't have cared, but I was on a date. The food was good. We each ordered the filet & lobster special. I thought we were supposed to get a complimentary glass of champagne with it? I think I will stick with lunch at Sinclair's and go somewhere more intimate for dinner dates in the future.

First thing, the strip mall location is not so attractive... Second thing, there was a guy standing outside, about 10 feet from the entry door, having a smoke break, I walk to the door and he manages to catch up to me and open the door for me. A few minutes later, he steps inside, notices the hostess on the telephone, and offers to take me to a table~!! okayyyyyyyyyy... After a few more minutes, he comes to my table and asks if I want a drink. During all of this, he's a bit on the LOUD side, his voice booming across the entire restaurant, so, when he repeats out loud my answers to his questions, the whole restaurant can hear... I was curious why he was so interested in me but so ridiculously casual, so I asked if he was the manager, is my server coming over?? I thought he was the manager, because what kind of SERVER would be standing outside the front door, smoking a cigarette in the middle of their shift--???? He said no, he'd be my server... Oh great, I thought... so much for a nice calm quiet enchanting evening... He was training someone, too, and she was meak and quiet and stood back and just watched... I hope she doesn't turn out to be so obnoxious, too. Throughout the entire evening, start to finish, he kept referring to me as "darlin' or buddy or sweetheart"- - DUDE I"M NOT YOUR SWEETHEART AND I AIN'T YOUR BUDDY EITHER. Southern charm works best when you're the receptionist, hostess, or 9 years old Girl Scout. I did not stop at your "Professional" establishment to be referred to as Sweetheart or Buddy. While he was asking me about my time in Montgomery, he had the balls to refer me to another Italian restaurant in town... really? Don't you have another Sinclair's that you'd think I might want to spend money in, as a sister-restaurant to yours, instead of sending me off to the competition? The meal was un-memorable, by the way. I had the sampler platter appetizer (which was actually good) and I had the Mediterranean Chicken, which was hardly Mediterranean at all. And I can say that because I lived in a Mediterranean country for two years.

Had the Fish bites and chips. Fish was very well cooked and flaky. Fries were good. Service was ok but not Spectacular which is a shame since it was pretty dead. Usually get a burger and they are always good.

This place was recommended by a friend stating, "...best steak in Montgomery!" So, I checked it out and ordered a medium rare ribeye steak. The first thing I noticed about my steak was I could've used a spoon to cut it due to how tender it was. The steak had so much flavor in it that I don't have to put additional seasoning/sauce. Overall, I agree that it's the best steak I tasted in Montgomery, AL.

We heard that this place was very popular so we gave it a try. Our first impression was shot when we walked in the door and blown away from the blast of cigarette smoke. Granted, the bar and dining room are separate but the separation is a interior wall that stops at the ceiling tiles. This does not prevent the smoke bleed over as the smoke travels thru the ceiling tiles into the dining area. On a good note the portion sizes were good and the service was okay. As for the food, the salad was good and my dinner of spaghetti pie would of been good also had it not been cold. I had to send it back for heating. They did however give me the meal at 50% off. Bottom line, I don't think we'll be back.

I ordered the chicken dinner platter and french fries and I must say, I was amazed at how great the food was. Although the food was good, the drinks were not. At first I ordered sweet tea but it wasn't hitting on anything, and next I ordered coke because you can rarely go wrong with coke. Also my glasses had lips stains on them. Overall the food and service was great.

Service is always good. Friendly staff. Good music on weekend. I like the fact that you can smoke in the bar section. Food is good. Big serving sizes except for the onion rings you literally get three. One of our regular places.

Sneaky good. Great crab claws. Nice salads. Can never miss with burger. Watch out for the nachos-the best! Might have the best steaks in Montgomery.

This place is apparently a neighborhood favorite. It is always full of diners. The menu is pretty standard American fair with your cheese sticks, salads, burgers, chicken and steak. Our server was friendly, but a bit slow with the ketchup but overall i give him a thumbs up for his service. He had recommended the Kowaliga Bites as an appetizer, which is lightly battered grouper served with a cocktail sauce and a tartar sauce. We really liked it. As for our main course, my husband got the mushroom Swiss burger and I got the veggie one. They are served with fries or onion rings. The thumbs up was for this part: our waiter gave us an option to have half and half of each OR a side of vegetables (which was my preference) without my asking. The burgers were okay, that's it. Nothing much more to say about that. The side are sauteed zucchini and squash was delicious.

Right now, Sinclair's is my favourite casual dinner resturaunt on the east side of Montgomery. Sinclair's is neat, clean, and stylish, but nothing too fancy that makes you feel strange wearing blue jeans. (All of the Sinclair's resturaunts have a old movie star theme with framed black and white photos of actors and actresses) The menu mostly consists of your basic hamburgers, sandwiches, salads, and great appetizers. Some of the best fancier menu items are their steaks which they get from Pepper Tree Steak and Wine down the road and their fried shrimp. Sinclair's is also really good for sitting around and having a good mixed drink while watching sports on the tvs (no tvs on the non-smoking side). The wait staff are also some of the best in town and get to know you pretty quickly.
