Bruster's seems to be getting better again. We came here about 7 pm on a Sunday. There were two girls working a front window, and the line moved faster than I expected. They served the nine folks in line in front of me in under 5 minutes, so that's about 30 seconds per person. By the time we arrived, the shade from the building covered all three tables in the back. The tables all have umbrellas again. I was happy to find shaded parking on the north side, also. It was 80-something degrees with no breeze, but still comfortable for eating ice cream. They have no-sugar-added nonfat ice cream available, but I didn't see frozen yogurt. There is no indoor dining space. I didn't see a public restroom, either. I think Bruster's is on Facebook.

This ice cream stand is a local gathering place and less than a minute from our house - all the makings for a great family treat. Tonight's pajama drive-thru was a fun memory and this month's Butter Brickle made an excellent milkshake... maybe we should walk next time.

This is a great place to get ice cream, especially vanilla. They also have smoothies and snow cones. Scratch that, they don't have snow cones, but they have other good stuff.

Fantastic milkshakes made pretty fast. I've actually only ever had the milkshakes, but I highly recommend the cookies and cream or the birthday cake. Very tasty and blended just as they should be.

My husband and i stopped here for Ice cream and I must say, Kaleidiscoops in Decatur is better and it is less expensive. The ice cream melted faster than I could eat it, making a big mess! Service was slow and the servers were lackluster. Will not be eating at Brusters again.

Contrary to a previous reviewer, they actually give you a lot of ice cream and the serving is pretty large compared to someone like Baskin Robbins. A small ice cream cone comes with 2 scoops! I think it's great, and the ice cream is very tasty!

If you come here for the ice cream that is scooped, then you will be pleased. As with most ice cream establishments, the scoop sizes will vary depending on who is working. My partner always orders the ice cream scoops and they are always good in the cones. His favorite flavor is the chocolate pecan, but they don't always have it available. When they don't, it hasn't affected much of whether he will be disappointed because all of the other flavors seem good as well. If you come here for the Blasts (the DQ Blizzard equivalent), then you will be disappointed. I am a die-hard DQ Blizzard fan and this place offers the exact equivalent with regard to the mix-in (Reece's Peanut Butter Cups). The problem is no matter what time of year I order it, it will always be runny and melted. I have bought it in the summer and noticed it. Then, I waited until winter to order it again and see if it was just the temperature that did it, but it was exactly the same result. Don't order a Blast from here unless you wanted melted soft serve with bits of your candy choice mixed in. If you come here for the sundaes, then you may or may not be pleased. I have had hit and misses with the sundaes. I started ordering these in opposition to the Blasts as I was determined to find an alternative to enjoy as my partner likes their ice cream. I have had some great sundaes with great presentation. Other times, I have had melted sundaes and sloppy presentation handed to me. They would be covered in chocolate on the sides. They should come with a better standard on the sundaes as I think they are a great value and would be always great if they can get everyone trained on how to make them in a consistent manner. On a side note, I have completed one of their surveys to the corporate office concerning the Blasts. I have received no reply of what they would do to rectify the lack of standard. In addition, I have ordered the Blasts on a periodic basis to see if they ever cared to fix the problem...they have not. Final word...go there and enjoy the ice cream. If you like to get something other than ice cream scoops, I would recommend the sundaes and warn you to stay away from the Blasts.

Every time I visit this location, the employees are always so disgruntled and aloof. Also, why is it that each time I've been here, they are out of about half of the flavors that are displayed on the board? I worked at a Bruster's in Birmingham a few years ago and our ice cream was made in house, so when a certain flavor was gone, it was gone for that day. Even considering that, we never had so many go missing! I think this Bruster's needs to reconfigure the amount of ice cream needed and get some friendlier staff. The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because the ice cream is really tasty when you can find a flavor that they actually have.

I have been a long time customer of Bruster's and have always believed them to have incredible ice cream.....I still feel that way, however, my visit tonight made me question whether I will return. My husband and I met friends there to kick off our summer ritual of meeting for ice cream. My husband and I ordered a two scoop waffle cone and were notified that the size of the scoops had decreased per "corporate". Our friend ordered the same thing, but asked that his be put upside down in a cup. His scoop was pu in the cup instead of the cone. Notice that I said his "scoop". There was only one when he'd ordered two. It was obvious to anyone that he had one scoop, and upon inquiry with the person helping us we were notified that we were incorrect. We were told that it was two scoops and it just looked small because of the change in scoop size. Whoever owns this location needs to rethink what they're doing. You don't make more money by becoming more stingy and telling your customers they are wrong. I would not have noticed a price increase nearly as much as a serving size decrease. This coupled with closing 4 months out of the year spells "store closing"! We won't be back! There is a great new shop right across the street.

Service was friendly and fast. The salted caramel toffee milkshake was waaaay too sweet for my taste.

Ice cream was nothing to write home about and the service was truly atrocious. Bought a Living Social to use here but upon trying to redeem it was told we were not "on the list" and would not be able to use it towards our purchase. This struck me as completely absurd since we clearly had the certificate in our hand and had never even been there before. I was polite but firm in my insistence that they honor the certificate but met with rude and disparaging remarks such as, "Lady, this is not OUR problem." This was news to me because it certainly was not my issue. Even the poor people stuck in line behind me were encouraging them to take the certificate. To make a long and painstaking story short, I finally insisted they call their manager who looked up my voucher number manually. Lo and behold, there my voucher was in their system. No apologies were made for the 1/2 hour it took to sort out the issue. The whole ordeal was a fantastic display on how NOT to run a business. Will not be returning.
