I am a plain-Jane vanilla custard. I come here solely for the vanilla custard. It is rich, creamy and smooth. They have plenty of add-ins for the custards. Also available are shakes and specialty sundaes such as mint chocolate chip. I would love to see more places open closer towards Daphne.

I would sell my soul for some of their frozen custard right now. I tried two different things and I can't remember their silly name, but it was so good I wanted to cry. I am so sad I'm in California and not Alabama.

We are in Gulf Shores (south of Foley) once or twice a year and Shake's is a MUST STOP each time we are in town. Their "concrete" shakes are truly a solid shake, but not my favorite. I REALLY like their traditional shakes. There is nothing better than sitting outside on a hot Alabama evening, eating ice cream and watching the traffic go past. Outstanding!

Wonderful thick and creamy custard. Today I ordered the blueberry sundae. You can order the topping layered between the custard or poured on top. I thought the blueberry was really good, it wasn't too syrupy or too thick, and there were nice little blueberries in there. For my next visit though, I think I might just get the plain custard, the plain custard flavor is just that good.

Oh Shakes. Shakes the Clown was not my favorite, but you on the other hand, soothe me with your creamy, delicious goodness. Custard seems so far superior to ice cream it's not even a fair contest. This custard whips itself into a icy frenzy, before you even take your first bite. When it hits your tongue you are rewarded with extreme deliciousity. I know, it's not a word but just goes to show you, Shakes makes me forget proper grammar and good English. Thanks Shakes, you're my new Southern fave..

I am hopelessly addicted to this place... The BEST custard EVER!!! I love the Dream Lover sundae, but you have to add caramel!! They have the best roasted pecans and most of the time they give you a ton! Just their plain old vanilla shake (my 4yr old's fav) is just delicious. My husband gets a brownie concrete, with the fluffiest brownie pieces I've ever had in an ice cream mix in. SOOO yummy!! I have to get my custard goodness fix at least once a month!! I would eat it everyday, but yeah... not a good idea. It's a little pricey too. It runs almost $20 for two concretes w extra add ins, and a kiddie shake. You get what you pay for though... Always delicious and worth going!!

Great frozen custard with a ton of different selections from scoops to sundaes to shakes. Their Banana Dana Split was awesome!

A must stop during our annual trip! Custard in general is really rich and creamy. Shakes is one of the only places I know that does blackberry as a topping which is my favorite! I usually opt for a classic one scoop sundae to satisfy the sweet tooth :)
