Showing up to a steakhouse on a rainy Memorial Day when most locally owned restaurants are closed or packed out and seeing that there are maybe 3 patrons can surely invoke some worry. Like uh oh Yelp, you promised some good food here...so what do the locals know that I dont. Just why aren't they here. I seriously don't know why they weren't there. Oh well...their loss because my lunch was delicious and I got to enjoy it in a super peaceful country-cabin-chic environment. I ordered the Blazin Burger which was positively delicious and the onion rings weren't so bad either. My husband ordered the NY Strip which for some reason he wasn't super satisfied with but traded with me for half my burger. I thought the steak was delicious. Definitely WELL seasoned which most places don't do. It was even tender-tender at well done and I prefer mine medium, so that's really saying something. I'd definitely come back but it's sort of out of the way unless you're traveling down I-65 at meal time. Highly recommend if you're close to exit 322 in Falkville at meal time.

One of the best steakhouses I've been to. The food and service is amazing. Prime cuts, fresh, and full of flavor. The second time I went, it was a Sunday and they were out of the filet mignon. They get their ingredients every Wednesday, if my memory's correct. Everything else on their menu is tasty, but the star of the meal is always the steak.

This place was fantastic! We stopped while driving through, we saw the billboard a bit earlier on the highway and needed to get gas so we stopped, the best choice we made. The value is incredible. Healthy portions of extremely tasty food for very reasonable prices. This place grills meat seriously. The steak tips were tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The hamburger was big, juicy, and great quality. The service was quick, friendly (some might find it a bit too friendly), and accurate. About the only complaint I could make is that the chairs are hard (traditional rustic wood chairs). I highly recommend this place if you are looking for great steak for an incredible price.

The BBQ Pork is legit, that sauce is a tad sweet.

Cute, little log cabin style restaurant, complete with taxidermy and other assorted rustic decorations. I would probably give this a 3 star rating if it was located elsewhere, but for where it it, it was just fine. Everything we ordered from Mahi Mahi to steak to pulled pork was tasty, but not as flavorful as it could have been. The fried green tomatoes would have benefited from a serving a side of something to dip them in. The sautéed mushrooms, peppers and onions were good, but the serving was pretty small. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stop here again if we are ever hungry while driving this stretch of 1-65.

I gave this one star only because I could not give it no stars and it be considered a review. This is the worst place ever to eat. The food is terrible and the service even worse. Don't bother complaining, the manager will not get up from behind the partition behind the register and talk to you about the bad service and food.

New restaurant, growing pains, worth the drive if you're looking to eat at a small business. Themed Colorado style log cabin - trophy hunting and all, branded, price is good. Proudly serves Certified Angus Beef. Being from Texas - that's a nice thing to know - but the serious concern is how well it's cooked and the marinades used. Food is better than what we've been having around the Cullman area - which is the primary reason for a better review than what I'd give to the same experience in Dallas or. Cooking: Ribeye Overdone - the steak rested and ended up more medium well vs medium rare that I ordered, Seasoning Good, portions good but from Texas I'm used to an 8 ounce ribeye being thick not thin. We went on a Saturday night. We don't expect quiet dining, but the music was loud and hard to have dinner conversations - heads up older folks. Enjoyable if your dinner should have good music too. Lots of people, fullish parking lot, no wait, seated immediately. Upon entering the restaurant we walked into a smoke filled restaurant. Immediately my daughter's Asthma kicks in and she has to go in and out most of the meal just to breath. (I spoke with owner regarding smoke cause, it's a growing pain but still a health hazard for us asthma people). Drink orders were taken before I even got sat down. Most of the time I'm good with this practice, but it was a red flag to remaining service of the evening. They did ask for refills, but only after we'd started being customers that needed more attention. Other reviews depicted otherwise. Menu items - Nice selection of American Favorites. Here's a few (not all): Appetizers: Fried Pickles, Onion Rings - Both Excellent and spiced well. Entrees: Pork Chops, Sirloin, Ribeye, Filet Minon, Fried Catfish, Shrimp, Mahi Mahi, Kids Menu items, BLT, Hamburgers --- Shrimp skewer with rice (10 ct) can be added to any entre - yum! Sides: ($1.99) - Sweet Potatoe Waffle Fries, Baked beans, Mashed potatoes and thick brown gravy, Grilled (not cored?!) Pineapple, Large Baked Sweet Potatoes, Fried Tomatoes, steak fries and other usual country sides Dessert: Banana Pudding, Pecan Pie, Cheese Cake... $2.99-$3.99 Food came out in reasonable time, not a long wait, but just long enough for it to be Saturday night dinning with a packed restaurant. And the fun started. My side skewer of Shirmp - came out 20 minutes after the rest of the food, which normally i'm not worried about but it was my daughter's entree. After all came out, we had to flag down and ask where's my shrimp and my dad's fried green tomatoes. tomatoes weren't even placed in the order, he clearly ordered them when he ordered and he wasn't asking for much - Tips, Sweet Potato, Fried Green tomatoes... When I received my plate - it was like an 8 ounce ribeye - Thin cut... overdone. this one, I even began to question if I'd received Ribeye but it did have the correct marbeling - so I presume unless they cheated (yes - steaks can be cheated to look like ribeye via sirloin or worse) it was ribeye. Then I looked at my great looking grilled pineapple. Two of the three slices where 80% barely edible core... 20% Absolutely inedible core... But it was cooked correctly and looked nice otherwise. So, since the shrimp didn't make it (I can't imagine how long dinner would have been if one of us had ordered only shrimp entree). I split up my Ribeye and sides and shared with my daughter. We're good with sharing, she just happened to want shrimp and I wanted steak. Children's Plate was good. Homemade Patty Hamburger (small) - very thick, you could tell hand made. Plain. No questions asked. No toppings for the Kiddos. Flagged down the waitress the remainder of the evening if we needed things - like refilled ketchup bottle, or food not delivered, etc. 20 Minutes later the Shrimp comes out after being clearly told no we don't want it. Waitress asks me three times to take the skewer. On the 2nd time I started saying no, and take it off my bill. The Third time it was brought up (to take it home??), I called for the manager. Then met a very nice owner, clearly frustrated, and clearly understaffed. I reminded her we drove a long way up - and could have chosen anywhere but this place had clearly consistent reviews that made it a hard choice between Momma's Roadhouse grill vs another. Then came dessert... three choices... Right? Wrong. Only had Pecan Pie. Well, it was good Pecan Pie, with butter oozing... The folks in my party that like Pecan Pie - Loved this one. For the rest of us, the Birthday Meal we were having - didn't include a Birthday dessert. The final straw was the bill. It had to be adjusted to remove the un delivered item, but they comped the pie. Still $85 for 3 adult meals, 1 Kids meal & 2 entrees. No Alcohol. Prices are reasonable, service if not packed I'm sure is great. It looked family run and operated and while I'll gripe about alot of things, I'd rather eat at a small business any day over a Big

My husband and I decided to try this place out one Saturday night because of all the great reviews. The food was good. Our steaks were tender and cooked to order. I really just have two complaints. #1 is the super small salad bar, especially considering it isn't included in the steak dinner, but an extra cost added to the bill. Not worth the added cost. #2 is the ventilation of this restaurant. There was a smokey haze throughout the restaurant that continued to grow during our visit. We left smelling like we had been in our backyard grilling all afternoon. Not a good thing if you have other plans after eating. I wouldn't say it's one of the best steakhouses I've ever been to, but it's not the worst either.

Best rib eyes, definitely worth the drive. One of only two places in this area that make truly exceptional steaks. I will say, though, that the last time I was there the ribeye was not good...I asked the waitress if they'd changed the marinade or something? She insisted they hadn't, but it clearly didn't have the Mommas flavor I'm accustomed to. Maybe they'd used a lot of ribeyes that day and didn't have time to do a full marinade? Not sure. But I still give this place 5 stars. UPDATE. I wrote this original review a few years ago, after Mommas opened. But in my opinion it has really gone down the last year or so. Last night I visited for what will be the last time. I went with a friend and as we walked I she told me the last time she was there they had been out of beef - out of beef at a steakhouse?! And the time before that they'd been out of both chicken and potatoes. Well, I knew from following their Facebook posts that they'd admitted to some stocking problems, so I was ready to move on and give it a try last night. We walked in and the immediately noticeable and odd thing was that our shoes were sticking to the floor! I thought it was just a patch of something spilled, but our shoes literally stuck with each step to the table, audibly so! And all the way to and from the salad bar. I ordered a ribeye, which I'd previously enjoyed at Mommas. This time it came to the table drenched in some kind of sauce or seasoning liquid or something. I'd ordered it medium on purpose because I wanted medium rare - I knew from past experience I'd actually get medium rare and I did. But the steak was just....there. The sauce or whatever on it so overpowered the thin ribeye that you couldn't actually taste the meat. In the old days Mommas bragged that steak sauces were unnecessary, and that was true, the steaks spoke for themselves they were so flavorful. Not anymore. I asked the waitress for some a1 to at least give some kind of flavor to the meat. Two dinners, which were a ribeye and a fish dinner with one side salad came to $35. So not worth it. I don't know what happened to the Mommas that started out, but this is no longer the same place.

Had a great meal at Momma's (and we met the chef's "Momma" at least...congrats again for quitting smoking!) while my family and I were driving to New Orleans. The food was excellent and served with a smile! Great sweet tea and it was nice to see a beef tips option for the kiddies :-) my pork plate was excellent and the side salad a real deal. I'll be back someday to try the ribs, which they'd run out of by the time we arrived. Thanks again!
