Lovely little restaurant. Can eat inside or out. It is a little hot outside; but, still enjoyable. Menu is fine for lunch, which is what my husband and I had: me a tuna on croissant and my hubby a New Yorker. The pasta salad I had was wonderful! The atmosphere was relaxed and the location was in the charming heart of downtown of Fairhope. You definitely can't beat that!

i think i may have to resort to the incremental-stars system of rating for this one, because i'm torn. *deep breath* okay. one star for location. it's easy to access; parking is reasonably convenient. it's not actually all that "quaint," although i think it probably wants to be (although the facilities could certainly be described that way if one wanted to be charitable, for which, read on). one star for having a patio- although the internal facility is so tiny and cramped that i'm not sure how you'd get more than four or five people in it if there *weren't* a patio, so maybe it wasn't a matter of choice, so much. minus one star for the location. evidently there is no restroom AT ALL on the premises ("we share this building" apparently also means "we hold it all day, or go home to tinkle if we absolutely must.") inhospitable, especially when the requester is a paying client. two stars for fast, pleasant service. they really *do* try. all this said, i think i may be confused about the idiomatic meaning of "mixed greens." to me, "mixed greens" means some kind of mesclun - maybe not a whole-foods all-out baby spring mix, radicchio and all - but, you know, something.... mixy. or at least something that makes even a token effort towards variegation. this is the source of my confusion: my "mixed greens" salad consisted of ribs of greenleaf lettuce. that's all: ribs of greenleaf lettuce. i tried to look at it from a few different angles, to determine if maybe it *looked* a little more like, you know, a mix of something, if you looked at it differently, but it didn't help. i stirred it around a little bit to see if something other than ribs of lettuce would surface, but i found no mixy treasure hiding at the bottom. finally i gave up and returned to the inner sanctum to beg for some onions. which they gave me. diced white onion, because that's all they had. i began to despair a little bit. i tried the raspberry vinaigrette with my not-really-that-mixed-as-far-as-greens salad. this is, as far as i'm aware, the only time i have ever consumed pickle juice and cough syrup mixed together, and i really hope i never have to do it again. for my despair, and for my steadfast intrepidity in eating most of the awful thing in the face of having lost 90% of my appetite, i deduct another star. i'm probably not being fair. fried junk and slathered meat products are the specialty of the south, so perhaps i should have tried something more along those lines. i was just really craving something else, after several days of being able to hear my arteries squeak every time a new truckload of cholesterol barrelled through. i hear good things about the reuben, so perhaps i should have tried that, although i doubt i'll ever be back to fairhope. did i mention they have a nice patio? they have a nice patio.

Went here once and had a premade lunch during the arts festival and was not too impressed... I'm glad we went back and tried their lunch/brunch!!! The service was wonderful! Like having your loving Grandmother serve you a delicious meal! My bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich was VERY good. I'm not even sure what made such a simple sandwich so good but it is worth going back for! The Bloody Mary was very tasty and had a good spice to it! Others in my party ordered the stuff tomato which was good but maybe a little too much tomato and not enough chicken or tuna salad.... I didn't care because my sandwich was great with the fruit on the side with a wonderful poppyseed dressing! Dessert was also tasty with a super rich chocolate cake and a banana creme pie that was one of the best I've had! The meringue was to die for! I will be back for sure!!!

The patio is nice. That is about the only positive thing I can think of to say. Inside seating is virtually nonexistent, so it is a good thing there is a patio. My husband and I both had the chicken salad sandwich, which is okay as long as you like almonds. The sandwich comes with a bag of chips. Two sandwiches and two small drinks cost twenty bucks. Definitely not worth the money, that's for sure. Anyway, nice patio.

I love that this place is in an old, small building. The seating is limited so get here early if you want to sit inside (during the hot summer or cold winter days) I tried the rueben sandwich - amazing! I make it a point to try ruebens at most places. My mom makes a great one so I always compare and this one was almost there. It was the perfect blend of flavor, the right texture (not too moist and not too crunchy) and the correct amount of ingredients. It looked like more than I could eat but I was able to finish it. I washed it down with Blueberry Beer which is very refreshing in the summer heat. The beer was sweet but not overpowering - just enough to balance the salt of the sandwich. If you are in Fairhope stop by and give this place a try! There were some other items on the list that I will be back to try next!
