I went here earlier with my wife and 18 month old son. We arrived around 11am on a Saturday, and there were plenty of tables to be had. We left around noon, and the place was packed by that time. Once we received our food, I had figured out why the place was packed. I had a delicious, juicy black & blue burger cooked a perfect medium with homemade chips. My wife raved over her turkey panini as well. The service was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back. I even saw Pete running food and bussing tables during the lunch rush. Even while busy, he looked happy and gave me a 'Who Dat' because I was wearing my Saints hat. We tried to order beignets but the server told us they were sold out. We were disappointed. But as we were getting our check to pay and leave, she brought us out a couple of beignets on the house. So glad she did, because they were awesome. Great lunch experience.

Visiting the quaint litte town of Fairhope, which reminds me so much of Coconut Grove, Florida, back home.... a friend of mine, a local, recommended this place. She mentioned it was on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dive Bars, and being my 3rd opportunity to visit such a place on the show - I had to go. My expectations were high, as are yours now after reading so many glowing reviews. But keep in mind, this is a great place but not anything earth-shattering. It's located in a cute little French Quarter of Alabama, and we sat on the patio. The tables are your standard cheap outdoor seating, and the menu is limited. With that being said, I did notice they had very nice indoor seating too - it looked like a bar area and a greenhouse looking room. The staff was there when we needed it and gone when we didn't. After my friend and Yelp highly recommended the Ahi Tuna sandwich, I went for the splurge. It was totally worth it and every juicy bite was scrumptiously devoured. I didn't even bother sharing with the hubby like our normal routine. I wanted it all to myself. The fries it came with were crispy and gone within minutes. The bill came, it went, not too much at all. And unfortunately, we weren't asked if we wanted dessert (we did!! but forgot) and remembered on our way out we didn't get to try the bread pudding. Next time, next time, for sure. Because there is no doubt in my mind that I will be coming back here.

Best panini ever! I had a turkey & my hubby had a cheeseburger panini. Everything was so fresh & tasty. The fresh made fries were amazing! Good service & a nice outdoor seating area in a pretty courtyard.

Who knew that I'd find the best food I've had in ages while visiting the Fairhope area for business? Certainly not me. I'd never heard of Panini Pete's and I'm generally not one to follow any kind of hype - I just want good food. When the person suggested I eat here and told me something about the Food Network I rolled my eyes at him, but took the recommendation anyway. And I'm soooo glad I did. The roasted turkey - WOW. I was blown away. It was probably one of the best sandwiches I've had in my life. Whatever you do - please don't ask them to leave anything off this sandwich. It's perfect just how it is. I'm not really a chip kinda person, but I couldn't stop eating those homemade chips. They were perfectly cooked and perfectly salted. Service was great. I highly recommend this place.

The seating and ambiance was great. But then Fairhope is such a beautiful village that it's charm fits right in. The food was very good.

On my way through Fairhope I discovered this little place in the French quarter and couldn't get enough of it, so when I had the chance to go back I jumped at it. Couldn't be happier. When I went it was just after the lunch rush so it took a minute to get my food, which was understandable considering the amount of customers they had at the time. I was more than willing to wait. The wait turned out to be completely justified by the food. This time an awesome meatball Panini, the special of the day. I've always ordered the special and never been disappointed. I HIGHLY recommend this place. If you find yourself hungry in Fairhope before 3pm, this is a must-stop.

Great food at a good price. Love all of their sandwiches and like the atmosphere of the courtyard seating. Wait staff is friendly and beer is cold. Best food in Fairhope.

So, like a lot of Food Network fans, I went to Panini Pete's because I saw it on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. I am a huge mozzarella fan, so when I saw they made mozzarella cheese on premise I was excited. I love the Caprese Panini. It is so simple, yet so delicious. The only thing that keeps Panini Pete's from getting five stars is that they get really busy and sometimes you can't get a seat. When I'm hungry, I want to eat right then, but on the upside they have recently opened another location in downtown Mobile. I haven't tried that one yet, but maybe that will divert some of the people from the Fairhope location and it will be quicker to get into.

I love this little sandwich shop. Whenever I'm in Fairhope, I try to hit them up for lunch. Last few visits, however, I've been unsuccessful. The lines get out of control to the point you are not sure where to stand (or if there should be numbers given to control the madness of the crowd standing around) and they start as soon as lunch is on and continue until closing time. I've never seen this at any other sammie shop in town, so I am assuming this has to do with the kitchen being too small for the masses that now come in droves to see the "Guy Fieri" reviewed panini place! All of that aside, I have tried just about every panini on the menu except for the fish ones. They are so delicious. My fave is the mozzie and tomato panini. I just love it. But they are all so very good! I've sat and had their beignets with my mom one morning but was not crazy about 'em. I really wish I could have their panini's again, I miss them - I just can't deal with the long wait that seems crazy unavoidable lately. They are not open for more than a couple hours for lunch each day (11am - 2:30pm) and I've tried to take their sammies "to go" but the taste does doesn't translate as well after being transported. I see they now have a place in Mobile, but was unaware of that my last visit through Mobile (12/26/12). Great sammies and panini's. Very tasty side dishes. Just hope you get in. p.s. Fairhope is unlike any place in Alabama or Florida. Do not be strayed by reviews that try to compare this cute town to theirs (Coconut Grove, FL? no way!). Fairhope is not easy to get to by plane, remember it's a connecting flight for most people (me) and an 18hr drive/two-day trek for others (me). This is a great shop, good food, good ambience. I will def take the time to wait in line next visit.

Yep, everyone is right...This IS DA BOMB!!!!! Featured on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives w/ Guy Fieri Panini Pete's is in a hideaway location in downtown Fairhope. My lunch was the daily special Blackened Mahi Mahi with shredded Lettuce, sliced tomato and house made remoulade on a grilled hogie bun. OMG, delicious!!!!! FIve stars all the way. Small, not fancy location and decor, nice welcoming atmosphere, food that is the shiniing star... I just does not get much better than this.

Did not live up the hype. Sandwiches were ok, but nothing to write home about. The fries were pretty disappointing. While they looked great and were seasoned nicely, they were limp and undercooked. What's so hard about making crispy french fries? As we sat down, we overheard the waitresses telling nearby tables about all of the things they had already run out of that day. This was at noon on a Tuesday! We couldn't try the beignets, since they had already run out of them. We had the banana walnut bread pudding for dessert...disappointing. Cold white sauce on one side. hot on the other. They clearly pulled it out of the microwave too soon. Prices seemed ok, but the food was just nothing special. Won't be back.

On a rainy day, Pannini Pete's saved the day! What a cute area to shop and have a great lunch. I had the special-roast beef and portobello-yummy! My husband had the turkey Pannini with mozzarella -just as yummy! We ate in the greenhouse-nice and cozy on a chilly wet afternoon. Guy was right:) don't know if we could have eaten them, but they were out of their beignets-but they looked great when served to others. Good reason to go back! We were lucky-no wait for us.

Traveling to Fairhope for the first time, we were blessed to stumble upon Panini Pete's for breakfast. The food was excellent, service very attentive and the atmosphere was reminiscent of a quaint garden courtyard in New Orleans. Don't miss out on the experience, but don't tell too many of your friends about it!

  • Cindy V.

Loved the outdoor seating by the fountain. Beignets were round and very light and crispy outside, but a little doughy inside. I liked them, but my husband not so much. Coffee was good. The paninis looked great. I hope I get the chance to try one.

I'm getting hungry just thinking about this place. Panini Pete's is wonderful. They have a great location in the French Quarter of Fairhope. I love how you can eat inside or in the courtyard next to the little shops and the fountain. One day when I was their eating lunch, a local artist was outside painting a picture for all to observe. It's just magical. I love it. I almost always order the Turkey Panini, the fresh mozzarella is to die for, seriously! I've also had the burgers and they're Amazing as well. One morning my husband and I visited and had the beignets and mmmmm....they are so good. Fresh and given with a wedge of lemon. So good. The only downfall is that sometimes, because they are so busy, you have to wait to find a seat (it's a seat yourself establishment) and if they're really busy you can count on it being a looong lunch. But the food is so worth the wait. Not to mention if you go with a good friend or loved one, you can count on having some quality time talking while sitting in beautiful surroundings. This place is a must for anyone visiting Fairhope!

  • Angel E.

I have eaten there a few times over the past couple years and was somewhat disappointed on my most recent visit -- my Eastern Shore burger was ok and just ok and the potato chips were oily and almost burnt. The new seating area feels like a greenhouse - it's stuffy and humid, there's no air circulation. I think they are getting too big for their breaches :(

  • Dave R.

I always get frustrated visiting a place that's been featured on Food Network because that means navigating crowds during prime meal times, but I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I found myself in the area right at the start of lunchtime (11AM) on a Friday so this was an opportunity. Got a table right upon opening for lunch (they close between 10:30 and 11AM weekdays for re-staging) and ordered the daily (off-menu) special, a Shrimp and Bacon panini with some of their other homemade accoutrements, and a side of their homemade fresh cut fries (they cut them skinny/julienne style). Both were delicious and filling. I also had room for dessert and chose their key lime pie, also good. I'm rating this 4 out of 5 because it was good but I wasn't "blown away", but I would still definitely return.

After living in Mobile for 7 years, I can finally say I ate at Panini Pete's. It was delicious. We chose to eat outside since it was a beautiful summer-like day in December. We ate lunch on a Saturday, and they were busy. So don't be in too big of a hurry. My sis had the crazy special of the day burger that had a whole mess of goodness on it, and she is not a burger eater. She loved it. The rest of us had paninis and we ate every bite. The Southern Chicken was a special of the day and it was awesome. The roast beef panini was also outstanding. I loved the homemade potato chips. I bet breakfast is yummy. A fun and casual place to visit for sure.

We went to Pete's because of triple-D. The panini is way too fat, I mean not like "it's dripping all over my hands and I feel really good about myself" in a Kid Rock sort of way, no just plain too fat. Mozzarella was ok, basil and tomato substandard. Fries should be crispy, they weren't. Chips were ok. The muffaletta didn't blow my hair back. I've seen better ham. I like to enjoy a good meal, but not for the remainder of the evening. And above all this joint is way too expensive! Sorry Pete, I give it to you, I like your place and the location is really sweet, but you can do a whole lot better than this.

    (2)
  • Marcia S.

Another 4 1/2 Ok so Triple D might have been wrong about Mancy's, but they were not wrong about Panini Petes. Good find Guy! When you get there, you should know that it's first come seating. Keep your eye on a table and snatch it up. Nobody will come and let you in on this little secret. We sat outside and it was great. They have a great little breakfast and lunch menu with unique sandwiches and hot dogs. You also get a choice of HOMEMADE chips or fries. If one of you gets fries and the other gets chips you will thank me later. They are both worth trying.

I ate at Panini Pete's on July 15 when I was in Fairhope for a conference. I got the German Shepherd hotdog with sauerkraut and the homemade potato chips. My meal was good, although the waitress was a little slow with Coke refills on a hot day. One of my companions had the turkey panini featured on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives and said it was excellent. Another got the muffaletta panini and liked it. It really did look great. Our other companion had the chilled cantaloupe soup and said it was good, but a little goes a long way. Overall, I'd say it's fine for a lunch place and I'll definitely go back.

Amazing seared tuna panini! The lime aioli complimented the tuna perfectly. Two thumbs up!

    (5)
  • T F.

I had the burger and wife had the ahi tuna panini. The burger was awesome but my wife's panini was better. It was so fresh and enough to fill you up without feeling too stuffed. I'll definitely order that next time we come to Fairhope. We sat outside in the courtyard which was nice. Sunny weather and good people watching. Beer selection was very good. Limited but nice craft choices Service could have been better - server seemed out of it, clumsy and looked pretty unkempt. But having waited tables before, it didn't bother me much. Definitely would suggest this place for lunch to anyone visiting Fairhope.

Never disappointed with Pete's...they have friendly staff and good food. I like to get the rosemary chicken panini. It comes with a side of shoe string type fries..I like the fries only if I sit and eat there. If you get a to-go order the fries aren't nearly as good after a drive back to the office. Just a suggestion :) Ive also had the seared tuna and its excellent as well! The hamburgers are good, but the panini's are better.

Good sandwiches given the poor sandwich choices in the area. That being said, the food was serviceable and wait staff was friendly.

Having heard about Panini Pete's for ages, I decided to give it a try. So happy I did! The interior was tiny and crowded, though they also have outdoor seating in the courtyard. It was cold outside and we got there just in time to get a table inside. It stayed crowded the entire time we were there, so if you are going for lunch, go early. I had the muffaletta panini with a side of fruit and my companion had the panini burger with fries. Both were delicious. The muffaletta was outstanding with just the right amount of olive salad. I can't wait to go back and try some of their beignets.

I ate here a couple years ago after I saw it on DDD while I was in town and I still remember my visit. I had the turkey panini that was shown on the show in which the turkey was deep fried. I also had the benets for dessert. The panini was terrific especially with the homemade mozzarella. The benets were terrific; the best I've had outside of New Orleans. I'll definitely go back again when I'm in the neighborhood.

We stopped at this place on our scenic tour to Biloxi MI. The area this shop is located in is like the French quarter. There so many cute shops. Its a wonderful place to just window shop. They also have wonderful customer service. Everyone seemed so happy to be working there. The cafe itself is pretty small inside seating about 10. It was such a wonderful day so we chose to sit outside. They're known for their hto beignets which is basically a fried donut with powdered sugar. Its really tasty. By the way they only serve two items on their breakfast menu: hot beignets and a egg, bacon, cheese panini. We ordered both and they were AMAZING! I would definitely go again too bad their in Alabama. I took pictures of everything. We gave 30% tip because the customer service was jus above awesome!

My wife and I stop by here every time we go to the beach. Amazing, amazing, amazing food every single time in a very quaint and fun location. If you're looking for great sandwiches, soups, and deserts - do not miss this place.

  • Dan M.

Yep. Reviews are true. Best turkey panini I've ever had. Not just hype! Only reason I gave 4 of 5 is that they were sold out of chips and the fries came out soggy, not crisp.

    (4)
  • Katy H.

Best ingredients, cute atmosphere, and friendly staff. I ordered the rosemary chicken panini with herbed goat cheese. To die for. I'll be trying to recreate that at home in the near future. Only thing I don't like is that I don't live closer.... :)

  • J. T.

I was really excited to try the beignets here, but I couldn't eat them. They were nothing like Cafe du Monde's beignets in my opinion. They were eggy and raw tasting inside. I was so disappointed! My husband likes them, and I really wanted to love Panini Pete's, which is so fondly regarded by many locals. The service was very nice and there's a pleasant outdoor seating area, so I will come back and try the paninis.

I shouldn't really be writing this because I never got a chance to eat there. SO for the food....ask others. What I'm writing about is ...well hmmmm...what "can" I write about??? First....Total excitement to get the chance to take my little GUY book on another adventure. Only to find...BAM....ummmm...where do I sit?....do I take a number???? Can someone take my name please? Why are those hipsters (two of them) sitting at a 6 top??? HELLO....WHERE DO I SIT???? ANYONE??? ANYONE ???? Bueller...Bueller...Anyway...the staff's help in my situation was nonexistent. SEEMS...(to me) that Panini Pete himself wasn't even there and that if he was (I really don't know if there is anyone actually named Pete that works there) his head has swollen from all the publicity to such a degree he has let the staff basically run off customers....with their lack of communication...I was a bother....sit outside, sit in the atrium...sit inside....but all the afluent people with BMW'S (6 series convertibles) and Mercedes blah blah blah in their $400 jeans were pushing their way to the SOON VACANT seats as if nobody else was there. I'm not sure if this is policy or what there at PP's. All I can say is ummmm....Hello....that's my Red Swingline stapler....when you're at PP's turn around, head out of Fairhope and go back to some place that serves some crazy shrimp just before the Interstate.

Panini Pete's came highly recommended to me for a place for great beignets without the 3 hour drive from Pensacola to NOLA. We were not disappointed! By far they are the best beignets I have had outside of Cafe de Monde! The restaurant is not seen from the road, you'll need to be on the lookout for the small sign(s) that are at the entrance to the cast iron archway that graces the entrances to the Fairhope French Quarter. Their hours are somewhat short so arrive early and arrive hungry, within minutes of opening there were already people swarming to get their orders in, and after opening, the seats began filling up! My wife and I had each an order of beignets and we split the Pete's Original Breakfast Panino. The beignets are not what you are used to if you are a die hard Cafe de Monde fan, but do not be deterred, these round beignet balls (you get 4) are...dare I say it, as good, if not better than the NOLA staple. It came with a lemon, but I didn't bother using it. The only complaint is I would have liked more powdered sugar on my beignets. The Panino came out hot and the Swiss was perfectly melted into the tomato, egg, and bacon. The portion sizes are big! I had a hard time taking small bites because it was a pleasure to fill my mouth with this tasty breakfast panini. The fruit cup that came along with it was a pleasing array of grapes, pineapple, apple, and cantaloupe, and all fresh. All of this was washed down with a fresh brewed pot of coffee that tied it all together nicely. There is limited seating indoors, and if you have a party of 6 you'll likely only get two tables, as they really did not want us to take three of their tables (there are only 6 total tables inside. There is a nice collection of salt shakers that are displayed around the inside of the panini shop. While we chose to stay inside, a brisk fall day or early spring day would make the seating outside hard to resist. It was definitely worth the hour trip from Pensacola to eat here! I can't wait to try out their lunch menu!

This is a diners, drive-ins and dives place! I got a perfecty executed mozzarella tomato panini with homemade potato chips. Pete makes his own mozzarella and it's delicious. If I ever come back to fairhope, that will be my spot.

Small cafe tucked away in the downtown French Quarter. Limited seating inside but plenty of seating in the courtyard. Make sure you get there early, this place is always packed. The food is great and the atmosphere is even better. Highly recommended if your in the area.

  • Amy C.

OMG you guys, you must try this place! Go for breakfast and get the beignets... Sprinkled with powdered sugar and accompanied by a lemon wedge, these beignets are the perfect combo of fluffy & eggy. If you are there for lunch, you can't go wrong with any of the panini. Everyone at my table had a different one, and not one of us was disappointed. I had the House Roasted & Medium Rare Roast Beef - Sliced thin with gorgonzola spread, onion confit, tomato, baby greens and Dijon on ciabatta. To die for! My husband had one of the hamburgers, so I got a bite. Very tasty! The only downer is that the amazing beignets are not available all day.

We were in the Gulf Shores area for a few days and made it a point to go to Panini Pete's after having seen it featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. My husband and I both had the muffuletta panini with homemade potato chips. The sandwich was very good, as were the chips. Panini Pete's is located in Fairhope's French Quarter and we enjoyed our meal outside in the charming courtyard there. It was a beautiful day and even though the courtyard was filled with diners, the service was great. We'll definitely go there again next time we're in the area.

    (4)
  • Karen P.

Great atmosphere if you come early enough to get a table in the courtyard area. Roasted Turkey is absolutely the best! The owner was featured on Guy Fieri (sp?), Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. It is all made right there, including the mozzarella cheese. It has a New Orleans feel. It is on top of my list for midday dining!

    (5)
  • Emily W.

Though Panini Pete's is a bit over-hyped, it is still a great place to have a sandwich. They really milk the fact that they were on the Food Network (photos of Guy Fieri and Bobby Flay cover the walls) but it is a pretty cool honor, so it's understandable. The portions are small (especially for the $8 price tag) but tasty enough to still be worthwhile. The homemade mozzarella is excellent, as are the fresh cut fries (don't make the mistake of getting the fruit like I did! It's a tiny cup of grapes and apples and you will be jealous of your dining companions' hot and plentiful fries!) Make sure you get there early, as in right when they open, because it fills up fast and stays full until closing.

    (4)
  • Lilly Y.

Oh my goodness, this place was really good! Although it's been on our list for awhile, I admit I was skeptical because Guy Fieri had visited on his show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". I've visited other places he's endorsed and haven't been impressed. I really don't think Guy thinks every single dish he tries is that good... Some, yes, but not all deserve the never-ending "mmmMMMmmm!!" I digress... Thankfully, Panini Pete's is the exception to the rule. It's nestled in Fairhope's French Quarter amongst other shops and restaurants. There's a common patio where you can sit outside and enjoy the nice weather. And, watch a mailman on foot deliver mail. Not something you see in the city or surrounding suburbs. I ordered the House Roasted Turkey and it was heavenly. Not too fancy, but made well. I got fries on the side, and I think they were homemade. Fiance (a Fairhope native) got the rosemary chicken. It was good, but I definitely didn't have food envy when we finished! Their house side was a cous cous salad thing, and I liked it but my fiance didn't. Oh well, next time we will get the house-made chips. Panini Pete's does serve alcohol, if you're interested. We passed because we had already spent a few days on the boat and at Pirate's Cove. Maybe next time we will try their new Bloody Mary's when we come back for breakfast on out next trip!

I come here a handful of times throughout the year and order the Rosemary chicken or seared tuna panini. Both are delicious, well seasoned and generous amounts. The fries are really as good as everyone says they are. My friend gets the Panini and she really likes it. If you prefer meatier, go with the burger. I always try to get a table in the "green room" (it's in the back). Price is worth it if you like cafe style restaurants. Every time I've been, it's been crowded, but I've never had to wait for more than ten minutes. I always finish my meal satisfied. It's probably my favorite place in Downtown Fairhope to eat. It's perfect for a lunch with friends. If you haven't tried it, it's worth it!

After a swim at the yacht club, the kids were hungry. All with different appetites! This place was awesome for us to since we weren't dressed and still damp from the pool. My little one ate the hot dog which was sooooo good. (Yes, I had a bite) My other daughter had the burger. Then I had the delicious Pete's 'Muffaletta' Panini! Highly recommend! It was big enough to share. Wasn't crazy about the fried but the chips made up for it;) Large portion for lunch! Great prices! And great Server! (Katrina)

  • Christopher C.

Fries and chips appear to be made in house and are very good. Burgers are good and kids' meals were gobbled up. Have been here multiple times on vacation and it's always good. Sunday brunch is also quite good. The beignets aren't like New Orleans' traditional, but they are still good.

  • Will T.

Fairhope is a quaint little town and there's not a bad meal to be had, at least according to locals. But we did find a pretty average meal at Panini Pete's, albeit with a pretty average menu of burgers and sandwiches. There was nothing special about the burgers, a Base and a couple of Black and Blue, although they hit the spot and were a nice change of pace after a steady diet of seafood. The muffalettas got mixed reviews, with one person declaring it the best meal of the week. I definitely tasted the olive salad, but the Italian salami and spicy meat was missing. It's not the authentic muffaletta I was expecting. Service was a highlight with a friendly helpful waitress. Panini Pete's may come highly recommended but it's average and I'd recommend seeking another one of the many restaurants/delis downtown.

Pete and I share more than a name, these eats are amazing. The food is good, the vibe is good, the staff is friendly and the courtyard is neat. If you find yourself on the Eastern shore in need of something to eat, head on down to Panini Petes!

It's always busy every time I come here, but the service is fast and attentive (even when you have to wait for a table), and the food is tasty. They have beers by the bottle and possibly on draught; daily burger and panino specials, a kids' menu, and their chips and fries ("frites") are house-made. Prices are reasonable, too.

My wife and I ate here while on vacation. I ordered the Eastern Shore burger. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had. My wife begged to go back before we left town. Promised her next year we will go again.

Great little place for breakfast. Pete's is tucked Into the French Quarter Market and is worth seeking out. The beignets are a must - light, fluffy and covered in powdered sugar. Yum. We split a breakfast panini and were stuffed. Pete himself was there and he and his wait staff could not have been more friendly. So glad we found it!

You simply cannot go wrong with Panini Pete's. My perfect brunch here begins with a mimosa and beignets. The light fluffy pastries are perfectly delightful. The offering of sandwiches is excellent, but the Green Eggs & Ham is my standard go to. Eating outdoors in the Fairhope French Quarter adds great ambience to an excellent culinary experience.

Eh. Despite having heard good things, Panini Pete's was a disappointment. There's nothing wrong with straightforward sandwich and fries... In fact one of my favorite things to eat is well-made panini/ sandwich. Unfortunately I just didn't find theirs tasty. Also fries were bland, soft and greasy. My panini was average at best. Service was not great either. Honestly I don't know why they are so popular.

We ate here for breakfast. The beignets were awesome and you should try some. The breakfast panino was good but seemed to be lacking/missing sauce. The Italian panino was better than the breakfast one. The paninis weren't as good as we expected them to be. The service was not great. It took awhile to get our food which seems silly since there are only 4 items to choose from on the menu. Our waitress seemed to have too many tables and was very short and seemed annoyed we were there (which is odd). We overheard her talking about how she "wasn't good" so maybe she was having a bad day, but we all have bad days and we still need to do our job without it impacting our customers. We aren't sure if we will try it again another time.

We went hearing about them on Food Network. Sadly we were not very impressed. Their turkey panini (one of the suggested ones from the Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives) was one I could get at a coffee shop in LA California (my home). Nothing really special. They also had a 'special' Cajun burger with jalepenos. Again, didn't find it very good. Being from California I couldn't even taste the jalepenos they weren't hot. Overall the style was cool. They had a really neat iron atrium/type thing you eat in. To be honest that was the best part of the experience. Bummed by this being on food network, perhaps they let go after that and didn't continue to create new culinary dishes. Also they 'sold out' and put a TV in the iron atrium that only ran advertisements for the towns businesses. Bit tacky for me.

Really good outdoor atmosphere. The food was great and the beer was cheap. What more could you want on a Friday siesta? Seat yourself in the courtyard and skip the line for the conservatory.

You can't beat this place. You pay a little more but the quality is great and atmosphere is great. We have made several stops over the last couple of years and never had a bad meal. Service is friendly but slow. If you are not on a rush do yourself a favor!

In town for a conference and this was the place that was highly recommended. We arrived at the end of breakfast to try the beignets. They were excellent. Love the local twist of squeezing the fresh lemon on top of them. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. A must if you are in Fairhope

Really good! Turkey was as promised...yum. Roast beef was good. Tomatoes and moz was delish. But the real star here were the beignets. Put cafe Dumond to shame!

Best sandwich spot around. The whole menu is good. Good service and you can get a cold beer if you'd like. Get there early as it fills up fast.

Huge burgers and fantastic flavor! Very popular and busy place. New orleans atmosphere on fairhope's "Bourbon Street". The kids burger was as big as my kids face!

Food is pretty good but my service is always pretty blah. I love all the side items and am making my way through the sandwiches. Not sure I have a favorite!

We stopped in for lunch yesterday and sat in the outdoor terrarium type space. The rosemary chicken panini and the tomato and fresh mozzarella panini were both tasty! Servers were pleasant and they had some interesting local craft beers on the menu.

I had a very good seared tuna sandwich with fries. The fries were very good too. We ate in the solarium. This is an excellent choice for a meal if in the area.

Best samiches and burgers between destiny and New Orleans. They the roast beef samiche it is awesome. Usually see Pete running around greeting guests, likable guy and you can tell he has a passion for his restraints".

Not terrible but not great either. Had a rather lengthy wait and then some food came out overly greasy and not grilled enough which made it cold in the middle. Not rushing back anytime soon. Bummer.

I had the panini burger and I was the first person to finish their sandwich! If you know me you know that NEVER happens!! Excellent price and scenery! But beware, it's hidden in the French quarter so your GPS will keep saying your at it but you won't see it.

Best panini I've ever had and we travel all over the U.S. in our RV. Fries and chips are very good too

We only went here because it was on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. We drove an hour from Gulf Shores just for this place. It is in a cute "French Quarter" part of Fairhope, but that is where the charm ends. The tables are crammed into the greenhouse part - the guy next to me obviously didn't care if I could actually get into my chair - and service was just "ok." After we had ordered our sandwiches we overheard the waitress telling another table that they had run out of beignets. What? This was early in the day. We ended up ordering the banana bread pudding made with beignets. It had good taste but half of it was screaming hot and the other half was cold. Obviously it needed to stay in the microwave a little longer. Nothing here impressed me to the point that I would ever go there again. Sandwich was good, but I've had better.

Almost does'nt need a review as its reputation speaks for itself. That said, I've tried nearly everything on the menu and am surprised every time how good it is.

The Seared Tuna Panini is beyond words. There's no wondering why Pete has ben featured multiple times on Food Network. Highly recommended.

Yelpers: I'm so glad that I trusted you. Thank you. For our New Orleans to Pensacola road trip, I was trying to find a good food place to stop for lunch, somewhere around Mobile AL. Somehow, Panini Pete's popped up as a recommendation. After looking over the reviews, re-watching the episode of Diners Drive-ins and Dives, and glancing at their website, I decided a detour to Fairhope AL was in order. The trip to Fairhope itself was well worth it, as this is a beautiful town. Panini Pete's was great. Just great. It is a small dining area filled with tons of personality, from the wall decorations to the wait staff. The food itself was fantastic. I'll agree with others that the homemade chips were a little on the overcooked side. So were the homemade fries, but I kind of enjoyed them that way. We didn't have any room left to try the beignets, although the table next to us had some and they looked (and smelled) delicious. This is definitely worth a try if you find yourself anywhere near Fairhope. Reasonably priced, very delicious, friendly service, and the perfect atmosphere for just about any occasion (quick lunch, business lunch, family meal, etc). If I find myself in the area again, I'll definitely return!

This place was recommended to us by everyone we met in the area! Now we know why! Very good muffuletta panini . Especially liked the olive mix (tapenade). Real good French Quarter burger, perfectly cooked to medium. Fries are good, but homemade chips are best. We enjoyed sitting in the outside patio area with our dog on the beautiful fall day! Our waitress was attentive & polite. All were hard at work, seemed like a team helping each other. All were dressed up for Halloween. Can't wait to go here again! They close at 2:30 so arrive early!

Eaten there for years and I'm never disappointed. I don't even look at the menu anymore. I just order the special, usually the burger special on ciabatta. Pete's beignets are better than any I've ever had in NOLA or anywhere else.

We stopped on our way to Panama City Beach. Our party was four adults and three kids. The turkey panini was amazing. Husband had the Junkyard dog and the French poodle. He said one of the best dogs he's had. Kids had grilled cheeses and hamburgers. Ate everybody. We all loved it. It's in a quaint little New Orleans feel shopping center. Lots of boutiques and shops. Definitely will try it again.

I occasionally watch "Diners, drive-ins and dives" even though I think that Guy Fieri is a tool. I did not however, catch the episode about Panini Pete's. My best friend lives in the area and mentioned coming here for breakfast. I'm so glad we made the time. The restaurant is situated in a gorgeous courtyard, with a bubbling fountain and lots of greenery. It reminds me a little of New Orleans, minus the soul and the stink. The restaurant is woefully small so we opted for an outside table. With the sun shining on our backs it was a perfect choice, despite a chilly temp in the shade. The breakfast menu is limited to 3 paninis and beignets. I chose the pesto eggs minus ham and we shared an order of the southern equivalent of donuts. The girls loved the beignets, especially with a generous squeeze of fresh lemon. I had a tough time finishing my panini, it was so hearty. The eggs were well cooked and the bread was gorgeously adorned with grill marks and a slight char. They served the sandwich with a little cup of fruit salad, a nice accompaniment. The only downside was the coffee, served in Styrofoam and deserving more of a 24-hour truck stop, than a gourmet sandwich shop. Service was good and I'd love to come back to try the lunch menu, which was pretty extensive.

I've heard a lot about this little place since I've moved to the area, and my grandma and I decided to give it a try for lunch one Friday. This restaurant has good food, but what really is a draw is the ambiance. The restaurant is located in the "French Quarter" by a little patio area and fountain, with a glass greenhouse with extra seating. Overall the food is good (nothing special), but if you're wanting a picturesque restaurant with decent food and affordable pricing, this is the place to go.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? This place is damn amazing and a total gem for Fairhope. As a local, I've watched it grow and it's been an amazing journey. It is absolutely worth the trip if you're in Baldwin County. Burgers are oustanding. My favorite panini is the rosemary chicken, so tasty! Their fries are bomb too. Good service, great atmosphere. You seriously can't go wrong.

Panini Pete's is delicious. Our particular server seemed a bit spacey but the others seemed great. I ordered the turkey panini and it was beyond delicious. I love the atmosphere, and if you can try and eat in the green house. It's located in the mini Fairhope French Quarter and is a great place to stop in and eat after a day of shopping in Fairhope. I recommend getting their homemade fries. Something about them is just so addicting!

I will go back - and usually do at least once a month. The Caprese is my favorite. In Fairhope the location is just too tightly packed for me and the service can be slow. The food has always been satisfactory. The Mobile location is very well-located. I drive past it at least once a week but have yet to dine there. It doesn't look to be too awfully busy and since the DDD thing has died down that may have something to do with it. The prices are correct for what you receive. The staff are young and could benefit from a bit more mentoring.
