Great breakfast and yummy diner donuts- service was friendly and fast. Now that I've tried their delicious breakfast I want to go back and try their delicious homestyle cooking lunch!

Great place for breakfast! Food was yummy and very reasonably priced (especially compared to our hotel). We split the Diner Donuts, which they call their version of a beignet. Being from New Orleans we were skeptical but they were really good and close to the real thing. The fact that they are bite sized is also nice because you don't end up with powdered sugar all over yourself. I had the classic breakfast. Eggs cooked well, warm crumbly biscuit, grits, and bacon (I forgot to ask for extra crispy so good but not the best and that's my fault). Husband had the Cajun eggs Benedict. Super yummy and we really liked the sauce on top. To top it all off, the Mimosas are only $2.50. This is officially our go to breakfast spot in Point Clear, AL.

Loved our visit here. Our server Jana was excellent! The atmosphere is great- -relaxing, clean, and pleasant and good background music. The food was delicious with good size portions. The sweet potato casserole was our favorite. We heard the banana pudding was great but we were too full to order dessert They had a good variety of foods and desserts. We plan to go back to try breakfast then the desserts!

At a soccer tournament in Fairhope. Called ahead and was told no reservations. I said do you have space for 20-25 and was told yes. 5 minutes later we arrived and were told no way and given and ugly face from the woman hostess. I said I just called and was told it was okay. She just stared at us with a blank ugly face. If we would have been told there wasn't space we wouldn't have gone. Staff needs to get on same page and hostess needs a nicer demeanor.

Buck's is a great place to take the family. The food is typical for a diner-not amazing but always filling and tasty. The banana pudding is certainly worth a try... Trust me!

I love this quaint diner! The food is great and the waitstaff is fantastic! Try not to miss the fried chicken, fried fish and the Buck's Deluxe for breakfast. The banana pudding is out of this world.

The staff was very friendly and took time to make us feel welcome, the decor was eclectic and gave us things to look at while we waited for our food. The food was tasty and a great value.

This place has a good vibe. It's funky and yet comfortable. The food is just passable though. I didn't find anything particularly delicious. I had the "Bucky's Deluxe" breakfast which included one pancake, grits, bacon, white toast and eggs. It was all just OK. They could step their food up a notch and make this place more memorable by making more of their food from scratch, or they could have some more options that aren't just general diner food, or take some risks with their recipes to make their food match the atmosphere of the diner. I would come back here again if I was in fairhope again and desperate for breakfast but other than that I don't see myself recommending this place.

This is a diner in downtown Fairhope that serve country style home cooked food. And they do a very good job of it. Think grandma's cooking and this it. Prices are reasonable. This would make an excellent choice to fill your tummy and put a smile on your face.

I only stay away from 5 stars because of the atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was excellent and fairly top of the line southern food however the diner feel just isn't there. This place is set up like a sports bar with no TVs. They are somewhere between a traditional diner and a normal sports bar. That is the problem. My suggestion would be to commit one way or the other. Either get rid of the tables, add some booths and a jukebox and make it feel like an old American diner. Then change your hours. Open after midnight since this place is walking distance from the bars! OR. Keep the tables. Get some TVs and a few more beers on the menu and accept they fact that everyone loves watching college football in this area. Either way I think this place would flourish. The food is there. The atmosphere just isn't quite right for me.

I like healthy food (e.g., I don't like fried, and grits aren't my friend...), so I was really underwhelmed when I walked in. However, I got the Cajun crab-cake sandwich, replaced the biscuit with wheat toast, and it was actually really good! My in-laws are from the south and they too really enjoyed their meals. I definitely recommend.

This review is not about the food. It's about the good people who work there. I was searching the area in advance of a destination wedding date next April. Even though I was not looking to eat, a very sweet owner, and very cute waitress came to my aid. They gave me the run down on every place in town, and lots of great ideas for my upcoming wedding weekend. When an owner and employee are this genuinely nice, for no reason other than to be kind, well you figure that kind of character must permeate every aspect of the business. I guess that's why all the food reviews here are so good. And that's why I can't wait to bring friends in for brunch.

Went for lunch Fri June 21st....The chicken fried steak for crispy yet tender and the gravy did not make it soggy...PERFECTION! the veggies were fresh and delicious BUT the star of our meal was the gazpacho...spicy and refreshing. It was absolutely the best I have ever tasted EVER,,,,can't wait to go back to Alabame just to eat at Buck's Diner...staff was warm and friendly so much so that I will probably add them to my Christmas card list!

My fiance and I went for dinner tonight and we were VERY happy we did. We almost went to Cracker Barrel in Spanish Fort but decided to stay closer to home. I was craving southern home cooking. We got there at 830PM and didn't realize that they were actually closing. We opened the door and both of us stopped to notice the time and they encouraged us to come in and eat. We both told them if its any problem we would be happy to come back when they weren't closing. But the owner and waitress were very sweet about it and told us to please come in! So glad they let us eat because the food was delicious! I got the daily special, meatloaf with green beans and a side salad. My fiance got the chicken fried steak with fried okra and mac & cheese. We both really wanted some french fries so we got that on the side to share. The meatloaf was really good and the green beans are made with stewed tomatoes which were also very good. The chicken fried steak has a yummy white gravy and the fried okra was crispy and hot. The mac & cheese we both agreed was YUM-O! We both started with a cup of jambalaya and it was SO good! In fact being a New Orleans girl I have to say some of the better Ive had at a restaurant. It didn't even need salt or hot sauce. We were impressed! The waitress was completely sweet and I love the music they play over head. Everything was a pleasurable experience and we will be going back! Oh yeah, I also had the banana pudding and it's as good as everyone says it is. I highly recommend you get over there for a good southern meal if you live locally. You wont be disappointed.

The diner with its good old country cooking and very casual atmosphere obviously has many fans among locals --- we arrived there at around 11:30 and were able to pick any table we liked, however, half an hour later, the place was packed. There were several in our party and we ordered meatloaf, fried catfish, fried pork chop -- everything came with 2 sides (mashed potatoes & gravy, broccoli salad, collard greens, sweet potato casserole, corn fritters to name just a few). Everything we ordered was fresh and tasted great -- fish was fresh and moist, the meatloaf was decent, tomato basil soup was delicious, the pork chop was the winner though. The servings were appropriate for lunch --- none of us felt too stuffed after eating that type of food. We didn't have room left for dessert though (a heard that the banana pudding is excellent). They serve b'fast and dinner as well. B'fast menu is standard. I hear that a group of local retired men like to gather up at the diner for b'fast and bloody Marys (I'd go there just to watch those guys have fun). Dinner menu is similar to lunch but with larger portion size. They have full bar.

Great home cooking - save room for the banana pudding - absolutely to die-for!

My husband and I went here on Sunday evening a few weeks ago. We were in the mood for comfort food and both had the hambuger patty (not sure what it's called on their menu) with mashed potates and gravy. My other side was roasted asparagus and my husband had cole slaw. We really liked the food and thought the prices were reasonable. My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is that the mashed potatoes were a little too "whipped" -- would prefer them to be a little bit firmer. We'd definitely go here again.
