Great, consistent food every time. You can not go wrong eating here. The delima is ribs or turkey. I wish they were open more or possibly more locations. Hands down, my favorite for BBQ joint in north Alabama. Remember the red sauce for ribs & white sauce for turkey is an absolute must!

Meh. I went today to get some ribs after Al.com voted them the best in Alabama. Honestly I hadn't been there in years and didn't recall the ribs as being that spectacular, but figured I'd give them another try. I ate them thinking if these are the BEST Al.com found, I'm glad I wasn't eating any of the others, they must have just been horrible. The ribs I got today were a mix of some pieces that were tender and mostly pieces that were tough and stringy, tough enough that I couldn't bite through them, had to pull them across to get smaller pieces. Maybe if I'd gotten some of their sauce to put all over them they'd have been better? But a good rib doesn't need that. Not terribly impressed, it won't be worth the drive again.

I've tried just about every BBQ joint around Decatur and Smokey C's has the best ribs. The rest of their offerings are good but nothing above average for the area. The ribs however has everyone beat.

Lunch specials are great for the price, pulled pork and pinto beans were killer. Drivethrough and dining room seating available. The red sauce is delicious mixed with a little hot sauce. Will dine again to try other meats/sides.

First and probably last visit to this establishment. Arrived around 1:45pm and noticed on the door that they close at 2pm. Received a friendly greeting and was encouraged to stay and dine despite my late arrival. I had planned to try the chicken wings, but they were out. Had the rib plate instead. The ribs were decent (better than Whitt's) but several were noticeably tough. The white sauce had a distinct zest and tanginess. I had the bbq beans and potato salad for sides. The potato salad was the best tasting part of my meal, but not worth the trip from Harvest.

This place is great. If you are looking for a good sandwich, the Big Smokey is the pick of the day. It can be a little overwhelming from the size of it, but it tastes amazing. Also, the chicken quarters are one of my favorites. Are you having trouble choosing a side to go with that delicious sandwich? I think I can help. The red potatoes are to die for. The banana pudding may not be the best, but overall, the rest of the food is good, and I would suggest this place to anyone who is looking for a place to dine in Decatur.

I have been coming here since they opened a few years ago. Close to work and convenient for me...a great little family owned BBQ joint. I suggest the smoked chicken (a quarter chicken) or the smoked turkey (sliced). Both are good with the white sauce. I usually get the potato salad and mayo-slaw.
