It's like Izzos Illegal Burrito, but much better. The staff is friendly, the service is fast, and the food is fresh. It is also reasonably priced, considering you get free refills on chips and unlimited access to the salsa bar. I must say the pineapple cucumber salsa didn't disappoint. The drink machine also offered a large variety of diet sodas, which was nice for a change. Overall, I was pleased with the experience and can't wait to go back.

The food is average. Service is quick. If you need fast food, it's fast food. Pricing $

So I have to say my motivation to try Moe's was actually from watching Undercover Boss and seeing how they even make their pico fresh in store. I'm a sucker for pico. Since I was now an expert of Moes from watching TV I explained it to my friend as a Subway except for Mexican food. Deep, I know. So, knowing the layout and process of the restaurant we studied the menu beforehand so we wouldn't make the rookie mistake of holding up the line And yes, "welcome to Moes...moes...moes...MOES!" gets extremely annoying but that is company policy. Stupid corporates. I loved the selection of toppings provided for any entrée you choose. The food did taste very fresh and actually had more flavor than the typical American-Mexican restaurants. By that I mean, your everyday Mexican restaurant run by Mexicans but the food is Americanized. The ONLY complaint I have about the food is the runny beans which aren't thoroughly drained before being scooped onto your tortilla or chips making them very soggy. My chicken was flavorful and moist. I was kind of surprised since it's sitting in the steam table. The price is also higher than I would spend for an average lunch. Around $10 I paid for a salad and water. BUT chips and salsa come with every order (so they say but you don't get extra chips with a nacho order even though you're paying a comparable price). The salsa bar has a variety of salsa. I tried them all of course but didn't care for any of the red salsas which left me with the verde. That's ok, I love verde, it's not the best here but it'll do.

Food / Value: The food was pretty good. I ordered a burrito, chips and a drink, totaling about ten bucks. At first blush, this may seem a bit high, but the burrito was huge. No, the burrito was massive. Yeah, massive is the right word. (Seriously, I won't need to eat dinner tonight.) The ingredients were all fresh and the salsas, while not the absolute best I've ever had, were also very good. Service: The employees all seemed nice enough. However, I got the impression that they didn't have a lot of patience for rookie customers (this was, after all, my first time at Moe's). The cashier was very nice and was much more patient with me than the burrito-slingers. Atmosphere: I like the overall decor and it seemed moderately clean, though I only gave the store a cursory glance before I took my food and bolted. The futuresque soda machine is a nice touch, even if I felt like an idiot for staring at it for a minute to figure out how the hell the thing worked. I have to concur with "Arlene G.'s" assessment of the greetings. It's just damned annoying. While I was ordering, the employees were giving these half-hearted "...eggum duh MOE'S!" after they realized that someone had walked in. Once or twice, it was just "MOE's!!!" shouted as someone entered the building. Someone at Moe's corporate offices should consider discontinuing this stupid policy and allow the employees to do their job without having to howl at every customer that walks in. Overall, I knocked off one star (I rarely give 5 stars - I have to be blown away for that to happen) for the slightly unenthusiastic employees and the damned yelling. Other than that, the food was pretty doggone good. I would recommend it to a friend.

I am surprised that I am the first to review Moe's as it has been open for a while now. I had heard all the hype for Moe's and I was disappointed with my first visit to this establishment. The Welcome to Moe's gets a little old when you are trying to have lunch with friends and would like to visit while you eat! Enough already. We were chatting with the guy who had to yell that to everyone who entered and he said he went home each evening barely able to speak!! Ok...I am not a person who likes to have to make decisions regarding my food choices. I much prefer to see a set menu and then pick what I want...so I admit, Moe's is probably not the place for me. i picked out my choices and I got some quacamole as a side. At best...all was just average. We have better Mexican restaurants here in Decatur. The guacamole was very bland and I was disappointed as I can make a meal off of guacamole! I did not try all the salsas that were available so I cannot comment on them but some of my friends go to Moe's just for the Salsa choices. So...there it is, Moe's might do in a pinch but I would rather go to my favorite Mexican restaurant!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
