Quintessential deep south catfish restaurant. Almost every community in the deep south has a catfish restaurant. McCollum's is Decatur's and has been for decades. It's even a tradition to some families and probably one of the more diverse restaurants in the city. It's a no frills restaurant that's great for families with kids. The food is always good, service is friendly and quick. If you are from out of town, McCollum's is a great place to try.

If you're looking for a really good local seafood restaurant that is a mom and pop store look no further than McCollum's! I've grown up going to this place and will always enjoy my meals eaten here. It's no frills, being located in a "fancy trailer." I always go for the popcorn shrimp that comes with fries, slaw, and hush puppies. The food is always fresh and hot when it comes out. Pair your meal with a sweet tea and you will have a classic southern meal. The waitress staff is always friendly and very Southern in their style. I would highly recommend trying this place--I guarantee you will want to go back!

Nice traditional Southern fish house. Had shrimp and scallops. I've always been told that if a plate of scallops comes out and all are perfectly round they are punched out of ray wings. Don't know if it's really true but all the scallops were perfectly round. Strange.... Shrimp is butterfly and I swear they look and taste like Mrs Grotons. Sounds like a negative review but everything was actually pretty good. I'm from Eastern North Carolina where seafood comes right off the dock...hard to beat that!

This used to be a really good place to eat. Our fried catfish and oysters were under cooked and cold. Everything tasted like the oil hadn't been changed in a long time.

I've been going to this family-owned restaurant for years with my family. The prices are low, and the food/service is always superb. If you're unsure about what to get, try the seafood platter!
