Boudreaux’s Cajun Grill Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Generous portions, great Cajun seasoning, surprisingly good beer selections. Our only complaint was our Server was significantly less attentive and as a our experience suffered. Another Server picked up on the issue at the end, and retrieved our ticket, which the manager rang up the credit card and brought back the receipt.

First time visit, and it was great all around. Very cool atmosphere and spectacular views. Our waiter, zach, recommended the shrimp and grits which were delicious. They give you a ton of shrimp. The crawfish cakes and crawfish étouffée got good reviews from the other members of our group. Definitely will be visiting in the near future. Covered patio with fire pits overlooking bay are a nice touch.

Recommend Chicken Macque Choux! Delicious! Wife got crawfish étouffée and it was good also - a little spicy like you would expect! Waitress knew the menu, answered all our questions, informed of specials, and was personable too! Everything was so good - we decided to go for a desert! The Bananas Foster was really good (not flaming) but in a good butter rum sauce and the portion was enough to share with four and there was but two of us!! We will be back - too many other selections to try!!

Overly seasoned food, and I have family in Louisiana so I'm no stranger. My White Russian was overly priced as it was mostly ice in a tiny glass. Also, though it was dinner time it was still too dark as far as lighting it concerned. The up side was that the service wasn't terrible and the décor was nice.

I expected better quality meats from this place. My steak was grainy and too heavily spiced. I feel it was an attempt to distract from the fact that they are low quality, yet high priced. The side of mashed potatoes were gelatinous, over processed and heavy. My chicken soup was quite flavorful, and the elderberry drink I ordered was yummy. The service was slow, but friendly. I won't come back, and I can't recommend this place to anyone either.

Meh is right. The positive -- these guys have done an amazing job renovating the restaurant and the deck! The negative - whoever is cooking, is very heavy handed when it comes to seasonings; whoever is cooking, is adding way too much sugar into the cole slaw and too much pepper to chicken thighs; whoever is cooking, either has poor time management or cannot handle "finer " items, like fish almadine ( it really doesn't need to be so wet oily, message me if you need a good recipe - it's not that hard to make, really) -- the person at the table who ordered this could not cut it with a fork, that's just sad. Service ---- I normally tip 18-20%, more if I am impressed. This waitress got 15 % and I felt like I was overly generous. Our table barely got checked on; I drank my water and proceeded drinking my friend's glass too. The water got refilled t the end of the meal and I just didn't want to make a comment in front of my friends and I already had sized the whole thing up by then. All in all, I'll go back for the "atmosphere" if my friends want to go; I most definitely will not go for the food or service.

Food was great. 6 of us had dinner. We shared the Boudin, Alligator Bites, and Chicken Spears for appetizers. All very good. For Dinner I had the Andouille Sausage PoBoy. Awesome. Service was good and friendly. View of the Sunset over Mobile Bay perfect. Recommend making reservation early to get a table on the deck.

My family and I eat here often. The food is some of the best on the Eastern Shore. Especially when it comes to seafood and Cajun food. I really love the smothered fried catfish. They have a delicious basil cream dressing that goes on the dinner salads with a yummy corn relish. The sauteed collard greens are superb! They also make a pretty good steak. Try it with one of the toppings they offer. Overall everything I have tried has been good. We also like to order the spinach and artichoke dip. We have also tried the bignets and they are divine! I highly recommend! They also have a great patio overlooking Mobile Bay. Make sure you aren't in a hurry..this place really should be a dining experience.

  • Paul M.

Try the crawfish fritters or the spinach dip! Po boy was delicious as well as their brunch items. Boudreaux's Benedict was excellent! Then the dinner menu was great too! I enjoyed my jambalaya after I put a little hot sauce on it. I look forward to going back and trying it again as they say they plan to kick up the spices a bit and add a bit more chicken and sausage! The mashed sweet potatoes are too hard to explain, just try them! And the cheese grits are amazing! With the view they have I can't imagine not coming back!!!

I ordered takeout - crawfish étouffée, fried green tomatoes, and crab bisque. I was only disappointed to only get a literal measured cup of the bisque. I was only disappointed because the crab bisque was so creamy and decadent that I was longing for more.

We rolled in with a party of 17 at 11:30. Am. They sat us immediately on the beautiful view porch overlooking the bayou. The service was spot on. The food was delicious.

I'm from New Orleans, and this place is way better than "Copeland's"-- with that nasty Popeyes biscuit on the side of everything. My wife had the salmon salad with a balsamic vinaigrette, and I had the oyster Rockefeller po-boy (that went through a panini press). It was pretty good. I posted the photos but didn't see them. As always, a bathroom photo, and aside from a garbage can overflowing with paper towels, it was clean and "stench free". Unlike a previous review from someone that was upset about the size of his $12 salad. Well go to Copeland's and pay $15! The deck is really nice, but is was cooler inside and we were both red from the gulf park pier and beach. A band was playing on the back deck and it might as well have been Stevie nicks & Jimmy Buffett (20 years ago). I give the New Orleans stamp of approval to this place. You won't find "beef gumbo" like New Orleans square in Disneyland Anaheim. The waitress was cool and the bar was kickin'. Looked like a happening place for small town people to hang out on a nice Saturday night!!! At least you'll have a 100% chance of making it home, unlike New Orleans..... Flies are inevitable with people going in and out the back door 24/7. I suggest they hang 1 quart baggies filled with water and a single penny. It sounds voodoo, but it works. We went back for brunch today, and my wife had the flounder almandine, I had the brunch crab cakes with hollaindaise sauce. Everything had a kick to it (2 drops of crab boil in an order of cheese grits)--but those in Alabama or Colorado don't know the difference anyhow.... We steal royal reds to put in our gumbo so the restaurant biz is all fair game. A real roast beef po-boy like parkway, a muffuletta from nor-joe imports, or a pirogue full of crawfish would have been a refreshing sight and would fill that place to the gills. If they really "needed" they could hire a shucker and do lagniappe grilled oysters on the back porch & have everyone within miles asking "where's that smell coming from?" But I'm not the owner, sorry....

Great atmosphere ! Love the deck . Food was really tasty and the fried green tomatoes are excellent ! The manager there is such a sweetheart he came to our rescue we forgot a item there and he mailed it to us ! Southern hospitality @ its best !!! We live in Texas and we will be stopping here ever time we drive to Florida .

I really want to love this place but don't. The food is good but my $12 salad was smaller than most side salads. They had 6 shrimp on it and they were small to medium in size. The food is good but if not for the atmosphere I would have only given it 2 stars.... Gonna go get some food from the hotel now. Ughhhh after my visit to the Men's room I dropped a star. They have Renuzit sticks trying to cover up the odor ...

  • Mike K.

We ordered the gumbo, pastalaya, and flounder almandine. Gumbo was good. Pastalaya was runny...with farfalle you need a thicker sauce. Tasted more pasta than laya. Flounder was good but I felt was overcooked, and could not cut with a fork...outside was a hard crust. Mashed potatoes and green beans were good but overly seasoned and tasted quite salty. Our waitress Tiffany was great and very accommodating, helping us decide on things.

I remember visiting this place about 3 years ago. I really loved the old place. I'm told it has changed names and owners a few times since then. Much more upscale look and feel now. It's still great watching the sun set over Mobile out on the now covered deck. I was bummed they don't serve oysters on the half shell here. Was really looking forward to it. On the recommendation of the server I ordered the crawfish étouffée. It was really really great. However the side salad was very small and bland. When will nice places stop serving iceberg lettuce on their salads! The creamy house dressing was nice. Server was very pleasant, just a bit slow. The entree came out to fast. I wasn't even half way finished with the small salad.

We stopped for a meal...Nice place....very cool view...gotta try the deck outside at sunset..We loved the food and the service was fast..one note they are working out the kinks...cold inside. Just tell your server and they will fix it....good food..good times

We heard not so great things about this place...however, we were itching to get some brunch and mimosas this past Sunday. We decided to give it a try and were not disappointed. Our drinks were constantly being topped off...only $9 for bottomless mimosas. We tried the pistolettes. They were good, different but good. My bf got the chicken and waffles, my sister and I got omlettes. Everything was good, especially the atmosphere and view.

Can't beat this place. The food and service is truly top notch. I've been here quite a number of times and have always been impressed. The owners/management care about their patrons and it shows. The last time I went the wait was long and my party fell through the cracks. Upon realizing that, the owner and manger waited on us hand and foot to make things right. Great people serving great food. I recommend them to everyone I know!

Had a great dinner this evening at Boudreaux's. Sitting on the deck watching the sun go down and listening to some good music. The food was excellent and our server was attentive throughout the evening. The views from the deck are awesome with Mobile in the background. I hope we have the opportunity to have dinner here in the future!

  • Leah S.

We went for Sunday brunch and very impressed. The view from the back porch is beautiful and they were very accommodating with a walk in of 7. We all got different things from the menu and tried a little bit of everything. We were all very impressed with the food and the service. We will most definitely be back.

  • Sidney J.

Food was great, service was good (lunch rush was handled very well), only thing that could be worked on is the layout. It was a beautiful day but we had to wait 15+ minutes to sit on the deck (there were MAYBE 2 people eating inside and everyone else was on the deck). The wait wasn't the problem - it was that there was so much room on the deck for more tables/chairs. Oh well!

Excellent setting, service and food! Enjoyed the view on the patio with a martini and the crostini. The crawfish etteffee was wonderful! Kenny provided great service!

If there was a way to give this restaraunt 6 stars I would. We stopped here on our way to Florida and the food and service were absolutely FANTASTIC!!

Where to begin? 1- The staff is very nice. I am a strong proponent for "if I'm being mistreated at a restaurant, I'm leaving." The waitress we had was very sweet. I didn't catch her name, but she definitely did an outstanding job. 2- The Gumbo. Perfect. It was the top five best gumbo's I've ever had. I would come back just for the gumbo. 3- The menu. It's a pretty pricy place. Nothing too too bad. They have a policy if you share, they charge you $5. But you get your own separate plate, salad, and side. And when I say you get a huge portion; you get a HUGE portion. The $5 was worth it. I give this restaurant 4/5 stars, because the wait was too long to get our food. And the hostess seemed to be dazed and confused by the concept of "We need a high hair."

Stopped by while traveling thinking it was still The Compleat Angler. Discovered that it was now "Boudreaux's Cajun Grill". Decided to see if the new "Boudreaux's" was any good. WOW! What a find! Everything fresh and wonderful. Nothing frozen. I couldn't decide between Gumbo and Crab & Spinach Bisque, so had the sampler. Both were wonderful! Gumbo as Gumbo should be and the Bisque was an inventive version of Crab Bisque. My husband had oysters and they were fresh and flashed fried to perfection! The owner, Aaron, stopped to chat. A man who is obviously dedicated to provide a great dining experience for his guests. We also had a sampler of the Bread. Pudding. Amazing! With so many flavors - rum, bananas, molasses, etc. Aaron told us that he had just decided to open for lunch and we are very glad he did. Daphne, AL has a wonderful new place to dine!

My Husband and I ate here a few weeks ago and it was GREAT...Service and food but I went with my brother last night, who drove over from Mississippi, and the Service and the Food were lacking in ALL areas. SLOW SLOW SLOW and it really ticks me off when a table that is seated 10 minutes AFTER us gets food and drinks 10 minutes BEFORE us. I have never seen Shrimp and Grist plated so weird and the sauce was "different". I wouldn't recommend them. It will be awhile before I try them again-I can overlook slow service with GREAT food but not for the price that they charge snd the rushed feeling that our server was putting out. I will go back in the Summer and see how it goes.

Just like to say food was great. Too many times they clam Cajun when in fact it's too much pepper and hot sauce and no flavor. We'll anyone from lafayette la needs to stop. And we will be back!!!

Although this location has been through several owners and concepts since I moved here 6 years ago, it remains my favorite place along Mobile Bay. For me, the main draw is the patio and the spectacular sunsets. Their outdoor patio has been upgraded since the Compleat Angler left, and they have music on the patio almost every night. Just a great place to meet friends for an after work beverage and either a snack or supper. Hands down, the best sunset view in Daphne.

  • Kevin B.

I give this place 3 stars. The food was spot on. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was overwhelmed. My biggest issue was the fact that the draft beer was way over priced. They do carry a lot of craft beer on tap, but $8 for a truck stop honey is overpriced IMHO!

    (3)
  • Sonya V.

I have only dined here once, but it is not high up on my list for a return. Chief complaints: Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays; No lunch service; WAY overpriced! $10 for a burger that is ho-hum is crazy! The fried catfish plate is $16 and fries with cheese will run you $7. The service was fine and the portions were appropriate but for the flavor everything on the menu is overpriced by 50%.

Ok so I was drug back to this place nearly kicking and screaming, but I was also told they have revamped the menu and it had greatly improved.... bottom line, I'm glad I gave in. Total 180 from the prior visits....I have to say, I never thought I would step in this place again, but I'm glad I did... If my future visits continue this trend, out may be one on my favorite local joints. Great food, friendly employees and management, good drinks and reasonably priced on top of that...$3.00 each:)

This is an update from my previous review. We recently visited Boudreauz's again when some family members came to visit from out of town. We were seated and given menus, after a brief minute or two when the waiter came by my mother -in-law asked if the gumbo was very spicy, the waiter said that it had some heat to it. She asked if she could try a small sample of it to make sure it was not to spicy for her. The waiter replied "You will hear the chef screaming"because of our special wants." And that set the tone for out visit. Our waiter brought the sample and it was great, not too spicy at all, it was then sampled by 3 other family members ,so it was ordered. When the order of gumbo was brought out it was OVERLY spiced!!! not at all like the sample we received at first. The cup of gumbo tasted like it had cayenne pepper added to it. It was so spicy, it could not be eaten by the person that ordered it. Now, I like spicy so I took the gumbo and ate it. The gumbo tasted great but it was very spicy not at all like it was given to us at first. I understand that when you eat spicy food it can get spicier as you eat it but for some reason, I can't help but wonder if more spice was added on purpose. Although, I can't be 100% that extra spice was added and at this point that's neither here nor there. YOU DO NOT tell your paying/repeat customers that your chef will get upset because someone asked for a sample. If anything they should be glad that someone asked for a sample. What if she had not asked for a sample and just ordered the gumbo and then sent it back because it was to spicy? Seems to me it would save money. To sum up this review : I am embarrassed that I brought my family here and talked so highly of this place. This was not just an "off night" of a place being busy or receiving the wrong order, or my steak being over or undercooked . This was just a waiter and a chef not taking pride in their jobs plain and simple . I also must add that when our meal was finished a man came over and identified himself as one of the owners. He talked to us briefly asking us how was everything we all said fine as we were not going to beat the proverbial "dead horse" with mentioning the gumbo. We talked briefly with him about this and that for 2 or 3 minutes and as the conversation came to a close and he was ready to leave the table he made a smart comment about them overly spicing food on purpose. Congratulation , Boudreaux's Cajun Grill you just lost a returning customer!

Lucked up picking this spot. In town for business and looking for decent meal and a good cold beer. Expectations were far exceeded by Michael at the bar, incredible view of the sunset off the deck and a tilefish ponchatrain that was awesome.

Good prices. Not too expensive. Great views of Mobile Bay from Eastern Shore. Amazing Red Beans & Rice! Now has fire pit you can sit and eat by...very nice! Salad has a twist that you will love. Definitely worth a try for lunch or dinner.

We came one Sunday afternoon and had the shrimp and grits. They were wonderful! Their Bloody Mary is one of the best I've ever had! You can't beat the sweeping views of Mobile Bay either.

My wife and I visited Boudreaux's on one of the few date nights we get to enjoy. My wife had the boudin cakes and potato soup, I had the blue cheese burger. We topped the meal off with and order of beignets. The potato soup was separating into the base ingredients and had no hint of spices. We gave the potato soup and D+. The boudin cakes when tasty and we gave them a B+. My burger was so soggy that I could not pick up the bun with the whole thing falling apart. I had to eat my burger with a knife and fork. I gave the burger an A- for the quality of the meat, and a C- for the whole burger. The beignets where hard as a rock and had a sour taste. I gave the beignets and F. All in all, we scored our Boudreaux's experience a D+, and that is only because of John the bartenders great job at keeping us entertained. I doubt we shall return for a second visit.

Visiting from out of town and out for a casual birthday meal with the husband and minus the kids. Sat at the bar with only one other customer and the dining room was busy but not packed. Rebecca the bartender was super knowledgeable and friendly. We shared the steak special with an up charge for splitting. I also added a house salad and added their table side house seasoning. The food was really well prepared and absolutely delicious. Also tried some of the craft beers on tap and the bourbon teas...also a win. Rebecca mentioned they had been open for 10 weeks and were about to expand menu. Nice take on Cajun without everything being fried.

Glad we tried Boudreaux's while passing thru town. Our kids loved the burgers with sweet potato fries. I enjoyed my house salad with sweet corn relish and added chicken. The food was a little pricey, but the service was good, and the patio has a lovely view.

Never had a bad meal here. Service is consistently pleasant and prompt. The atmosphere is fabulous. Their newly updated, covered patio is on the water overlooking the bay. Has a lounge type feel with outdoor couches to relax and listen to live music. Front porch nectar is a must try cocktail and the shrimp and grit cakes for a meal.

I normally don't visit "Cajun" restaurants because usually, its pretty terrible. But, a friend told me that the Crawfish Etouffee was "really good" so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the Etouffee that my wife ordered was very bland and disappointing. The "gumbo" that we had for an appetizer was the typical South Alabama seafood restaurant tomato based stuff, a far cry from the real thing. I had the special which was supposedly "Speckled Trout" and, I knew before I ordered it that it would be some other fish re-labeled as speckled trout but I wanted to see how bad the lie actually was. Overall the fish was pretty good but if that big, thick, piece of fish came off of a speckled trout it must have been a 9 or 10 pound fish. I fish for specks a lot and I certainly hope that they aren't killing big trout to serve in "cajun" restaurants.... Do us all a favor and call your fish what it actually is. If its sutchi or whatever they call it just call it that. Thank you.

My husband and I were in the Spanish Fort area over Memorial Day and decided to give this place a try, I am very happy we did! The food was great. I tried a blackened shrimp pasta while my husband opted for the steak and we would recommend both. After dinner, we walked out onto their deck and the view was beautiful! If you are in the Spanish Fort area and are looking to try something new, I would recommend it.

Being there two times since it's opening; once for the Sunday Brunch and just yesterday for a meeting with friends. Both experiences has been very good. I must say that the best item is the service, both time the service have been EXCELLENT! On the food, is very good, while a little under portioned. Last night I had their cajun chicken, which was wonderful, while my companion had the shrimp pasta and it was a bit shy on the shrimp. The restaurant accommodated the group of friends (we were more than 15!!) with a separate room. This restaurant is starting and I think that if they respond to feedback, they are on their way to greatness!!

Drove over 68 miles to dine at this place and to be honest I do not think I will return (I Know My Wife Won't) . First off our order was screwed up and they had to send them both back because the waitress did not write it down properly, Second, we both had the Crawfish Etouffee and it was very good but very small portion, And Third, my wife bit into something that was not suppose to be in the food (She Still will not tell me what it was, And when I ask her reply is "You don't want to know", And naturally she kept her mouth shut and didn't say anything because she didn't want to ruin my meal. Forth, the above dish says it comes with a salad but what we got was a real disappointment (Or A JOKE) because their idea of a house salad is ONE leaf of rusty looking Ice Berg lettuce (Yes You Read It Right "ONE LEAF) torn into FIVE small pieces, And to add insult to injury they cut "ONE" (YES ONE) Grape Tomato into 4 quarters and arranged them around FIVE bite size lettuce leafs on the SMALL saucer which it was served on. No I do not feel I will be returning here because of the VERY VERY SMALL portions and the VERY VERY HIGH PRICE.

We tried brunch here & it was awesome! Plenty of sweet and savory choices & bottomless mimosas. We tried the banana fosters French toast and the eggs Benedict on boudin cakes. Both were delicious. The eggs came with grits & they were really tasty (I normally don't like grits). The server was great. We'll definitely be back to try their dinner options!

The view of the delta and dramatic sunsets enhances the atmosphere and your dining experience. Well treated by a staff that enjoys their participation in your dining, quietly and professionally attending to your needs. The owner and chef have assembled a unique dining choice for this area - focusing on fresh, local products prepared with expert skills. You will enjoy the fresh Gulf seafood and reward yourself with a creme brûlée dessert.

Excellent meal and service! Visiting our old stomping grounds and decided to try out Boudreax's and watch the sun set over the bay. Everything we ordered was great- appetizer of fried green tomatoes topped with shrimp remoulaude, crawfish étouffée was as good as my momma's and the catfish with étouffée on top was to dream about!. Great experience and would be a great place to take business clients to!

I went to Boudreaux's last Friday evening with my wife and 2 children. The parking lot was packed, so we also turned back, but we had foolishly mentioned looking at the water to my 4 year old so we felt committed to brave the crowd. Fortunately, they were able to seat us within about 5 minutes. The deck was absolutely beautiful. Service was without problem though not overwhelming, but upon hearing they've only been opened a couple of weeks I was actually impressed they were able to handle the crowd. I really can't say enough about the food. My wife had the catfish and I had the pork chop, which were both well cooked and delicious. I really think the thing that struck me the most and made me want to come back soon was how good all of the small touches were. We always order kids meals just to be polite, even if we think the kids aren't hungry or hungry enough, but my wife and I ended up practically fighting over the chicken fingers we ordered for the kids. Hand breaded in seasoned flour instead of frozen! The appetizer dip was similarly delicious and clearly put together from scratch. Terrific bread pudding for desert. I've been to lots of new restaurants over the years, and this is the first time I really felt that they were focusing on the right little things: homemade ingredients, delicious food, interesting menu. Look forward to going back again soon, maybe with a designated driver so I can try the 50oz (I think) Swampwater drink special, which looked incredible!
