Asked the gal behind the desk at the Super 8, where there might be a decent place to eat around here? I was not looking for anything fancy, just some good grub at a reasonable price. She suggested going across the street to Center Bowl and inside it, there is Red's Center Cafe. This place was cool-the food was pretty good, and for Alaska, the prices seemed okay. I ordered a cheeseburger & fries and I was dying for a cold glass of milk. It ended up being a little under $10. Interestingly, the waitress told me she was leaving to go down to San Diego for a trip in a few days. I was able to give her some good tourist tips and told her not to expect to go to Tijuana, Mexico without having a valid passport to get back into the country. I watched as many hungry and thirsty bowlers came into Red's to order and pay for a quick snack or drink. Seems like the french fires and nachos are very popular items with the sporting crowd. You can have whatever you order and pay for delivered right to your bowling lanes. On the weekends, they serve eggs and breakfast dishes. Again, I will add--it is always better to go hang out and spend your money dining where the true locals eat and Red's would be exactly that place. Yay--I'm a fan.
